December 5, 201213 yr using the menus in fsx still crashes even after the supposed uianimationcore.dll fix in windows 7 x64 Its really annoying when it crashes in the middle of a 3 hour flight Any help? Ps when is microsoft either gonna patch this BS or make a new simulator thats worth a crap?
December 5, 201213 yr It could be the wrong version. I have never suffered this crash and do not have the uiautomationcore.dll in my directory but some, for some strange reason, needs it. Word Not Allowed has a link to the best version in his guide - http://#####.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ but there are other threads in the CTD forum that have links to the best too. You could do a uiautomationcore.dll search here in this forum to get more info. If you are interested in see what caused your crash, you should download the AppCrashView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html and that should let you know what module in fsx faulted and caused the crash. Ps when is microsoft either gonna patch this BS or make a new simulator thats worth a crap? In case you haven't heard, Microsoft is out of the flightsim business. They laid off the developers of FSX as I suspect the platform wasn't making them billions as they had hoped. This may be the final flightsim ever made. Fortunately some creative addon developers are making some improvements but they can't touch the code to improve the engine. A lot of members are still using FS2004 and addons are still being made for that platform. I expect FSX to live on for a few more years unless something better is released. Actually I think FSX/Acceleration runs great by itself. It's when you add old or experimental addons to it that causes the crashes. Or try to raise the settings to the max or overclock too much. FSX is an old engine and does not like some of this stuff. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
