December 9, 201213 yr Hi everyone I've finally pinned down the problematic area. For a long time fs9 crashed during flights. I began to notice that the crash occurs ONLY when flying over the USA or Canada. It's not related to addon airports/scenery. Believe me, I went down that path, uninstalling sceneies, until I realized that the default scenery is the culprit. I got some advice about a program that detects corrupt files, but it was way too complex for my level. So can I do this?- Go to the original installation discs and copy the texture files for those two places-US/Canada? I remember that during fs9 installation, it asks you which sceneries do you want installed. December 9, 201213 yr I remember that during fs9 installation, it asks you which sceneries do you want installed. I don't remember that. If you kow the names of the corrupt files you could copy only those from the disks. There are lists of what's on each disk and Google should find one for you. Gerry Howard
December 9, 201213 yr Author That's just it- I know that the US/Canada scenery contains the corrupt files. But I have no idea which ones! Eytan
December 9, 201213 yr Then by all means, go ahead and replace 'all' of the North American textures files. (extracted from your disk(s)) Much less time consumed that way any way. Regards, Mel
December 9, 201213 yr Try http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=fs9cddir.zip&CatID=root&Go=Search For an Excel directory of the 4 CDs contents. ( fs9cddir.zip ). Colin B
December 11, 201213 yr Author Hi Colin I looked at the contents of cd 4 in the excel directory. There are files for Africa South America Africa Oceania Asia Then there is World Is this for North America (and maybe Europe?) Eytan
December 11, 201213 yr Look in Disc 3 section. FS9\Disc3\ MSGAME8.cab LDM_dc_houseofrepresenatives_inside.bmp There are lots of US files like this. Are these part of what you want. I've never needed to go right through the Excel file but there is an awful lot to look at, especially on that disc. Colin B
