Turning Mkr Beacon Audio On

Featured Replies

OK, I hate to admit this, but I cannot seem to get the Mkr Beacon audio to come on. Visual depiction on the PFD works fine. I purchased this download when it first came out, and after reading the manual, I got them to work at that time. Then, I must have done something to turn them off. A couple of weeks ago, I tried clicking the button on both radios and they worked. Today, I just flew an approach and I was back to the OM and MM displaying on the PFD and no audio. I must be missing a switch some where. Any suggestions are appreciated. Mike Nicholson

Your post doesn't make it clear, fully, though you did allude to clicking the buttons on the last flight you flew.

Did you twist the MKR knob on the pedestal this flight?

Take a look at the circles with the arrows on them. Make sure the one labeled MKR is on, and lit up. Whenever I fly approaches, it's part of my workflow to (excuse the little bit of crassness, but it's memorable) "play with the T.I.T.s."

Tune, identify, twist. It's more related to using VORs raw data than anything, but the same can be said for anything that you can tune.

Tune it, make sure to go to the audio panel and ident it. In the case you'd like the audible MKR ID, just add in a press to the MKR button when you also press the NAV1/2 to ident the LOC.

In reply to your question, I didnot twist the Mkr knob; I only pressed it, and it lit up. Is there a certain way you want it to twist- up? down? I guess I better find the Mkr Beacon test button, and then if I'm doing it right, I should be able to hear it! Thanks again, Mike N.

In real 737 you'll press those buttons to turn on and twist to adjust volume. But on NGX you can only press them and volume would be set to high automatically.
