December 11, 201213 yr Anyone have a clue how to set up and execute an ILS approach with LOC and GS for this bird? I see the NAV1 and CRS selectors but they dont engage the LOC and GS at all, any help would be appreciated greatly. Ross
January 21, 201313 yr Make sure you set the frequencies right. Then make sure that you have set the heading ref switch to hdg and not to GPS. Because if the GPS switch is active it will interfere with the ILS and prevent it from functioning.
July 10, 201510 yr I have not found anything to be routine with this aircraft from CLS. If I click on the ILS button on the MCP, the airplane makes a 360 turn. If I select #1 autopilot, the autopilot emergency disconnect operates and no AP functions are available, it appears to operate backwards. Also, as probably has been reported in the past, the elevator trim is run full nose down at startup. You have to up nose up trim for quite a while in order to get an acceptable nose up condition. In general, it is a piece of junk. Eric Parker Eric Parker
July 10, 201510 yr If you set an ILS frequency in the ILS select panel, it should bring up the course deviation "balls" on the ADI. In the FMS, double check on the INIT REF page to make sure the correct frequency matches, along with the course... You can't set ILS frequencies in the NAV radio- and if you leave the ILS panel "parked," you wouldn't be able to display the course devation on the attitude indicator. Using the method above, you can keep the EHSI in map mode for situational awareness on the approach.
