December 20, 201213 yr Hi Simmers, I recently upgraded my W7-64bit, to W8. It loads perfectly - even faster than W7. But when it opens, it appears to be in Windows Mode, and not Full Screen. All the menus at the top are gone with about 2 inches of the screen on each side black (I believe this means it's in Windows Mode). I will really appreciate any help, especially if there's a way to restore full screen. Big thank you! >>> Warren, Upgraded W8 version.
December 20, 201213 yr Thats weird... have you tried alt-enter or double clicking on the window? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
December 20, 201213 yr I think you missed the correct forum but, have you changed any compatibility settings? Or what's the resolution inside FSX set to? Tried Alt+Enter?
December 21, 201213 yr Did you install the graphic card drivers? Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. December 24, 201213 yr check out the megathread on the intermittent dissapearing joysticks It's funny I was reading that earlier, any fixes found? I've plowed into the runway so much times now after disabling autopilot to manually land. Significantly more embarrassing when on VATSIM.
December 24, 201213 yr It's funny I was reading that earlier, any fixes found? I've plowed into the runway so much times now after disabling autopilot to manually land. Significantly more embarrassing when on VATSIM. I have confirmed that calibrating your controls through a registered version of FSUIPC fixes the problem completely. If you haven't purchased the registered version of FSUIPC yet, it is well worth the investment. The only little quirk I have with this fix is that I normally have to disconnect and reconnect my controllers before I start the sim, or close the sim and restart it after reconnecting them if I already opened it. For any of you waiting to upgrade to Windows 8, I would highly recommend taking to plunge. I bought an SSD on Black Friday and upgraded to Win 8 and the load times are incredibly. My computer boots in about 30 seconds (with 23 seconds being the motherboard booting, Win 8 only takes 7 seconds), it shuts down in about 3 seconds, and FSX loads up a flight in about 30 seconds with 50GB of MegaSceneryEarth installed (took about 6 minutes without the SSD on Win 7). With Win 8, getting an SSD is not a bad idea too, since you can get 128GB ones now for about $100. I just installed Win 8 and FSX on my SSD and I keep everything else on my old 1TB hard drive. December 24, 201213 yr The more people that report this the better, so we have a databases of fixes. I have a copy of Windows 8 sitting here doing nothing until a solution presents itself.
