AIRAC for the Carenado stock OR RXP GNS430

Featured Replies

Hi there Caravan drivers.

The C208B should have been my first leap into the GA game, but I had quite a surpise, when I learnt that getting either the stock GPS that comes with the Caravan, OR the 50$ RXP addon, updatet to match RW AIRACs are virtually unsupported???? I see in the RXP forum, that from time to time a more or less functional fix is presented, for at the prices we are talking about here, I feel that this should be updated without hazzle by either Navdate Pro or Navigraph...

I simply wanted to check with you, the customers, that this is true???

If not, how do you operate the AC flying rw RNAV approaches - lot's of them must not be present in the stock 430 that comes with the 208?

Thx in advance

I've just this morning been looking into updating the database that comes with the reality XP GPSs, you might find this interesting - http://www.simforums...9731_page1.html

/Edit;

I have just done the following and it appears to have updated the relevent databases to June 2011;

  • Download and install the Garmin trainer from here - https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downloadsUpdates.jsp?product=010-00820-50&cID=194&pID=67886
  • Create a backup folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS400W-500W Trainer\Trainer and move basemap.bin, terrain.odb, terrain.tdb & worldwide.bin into the backup folder.
  • in C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GTN Trainer\db Make a copy of AVTN_WWW_DB.bin and rename to worldwide.bin, Make a copy of bmap.bin and rename to basemap.bin, move worldwide.bin, basemap.bin & terrain.odb to C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS400W-500W Trainer\Trainer

If you cant find C:\ProgramData you'll need to show hidden folders - Organize / Folder and Search Options / View / Hidden Files & Folders / Show hidden files, folders and ddrives.

I had to keep terrain.tdb in the directory instead of moving it out.  The unit still worked without it but there was a terrain missing error. There doesnt seem to be a new one in the GNS download.

It works great after that!
