January 4, 201313 yr I don't know how to calculate the assumed temperature or the flap setting I have to use for take off. At the moment I always try to estimate a number to get off from the runway safely. For example, in EDDF, having 4km of runway, I always take off with Flaps 5° and a very high assumed temperature. When taking off from TNCM with just 2km of runway, I usually use flaps 15° and a lower assumed temperature. But I assume that this is not the way pilots do it in reality Is there a software to calculate these things for the 737NG? Or is the FMC of the NGX somehow able to calculate these settings? How do you decide, which flap setting you use for take off and how much thrust? Thanks in advance! Anton Meier
January 4, 201313 yr Is there a software to calculate these things for the 737NG? TOPCAT: http://www.flightsimsoft.com/. Or is the FMC of the NGX somehow able to calculate these settings? It can calculate takeoff speeds, but not an assumed temperature or an optimum flaps setting. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
January 4, 201313 yr TOPCAT. FMC can't calculate such things. Rostyslav S Wanna fly 737NGX with turbulence?
