Airport scenery issue

Featured Replies

Hi,

I would really appreciate help on the following issue I have encountered with some FSX scenery:

1) I am using the VFR scenery with an add-on airport and all was fine until I updated the airport scenery with an update file provided to better merge with the photo-realistic scenery.

2) Following this update, the airport was no longer visible. After some trial and error, I discovered that the add-on airport re-appears when I allow FSX to regenerate the fsx.cfg file but of course I now need to recover all of the other setup/configuration data that is in my old cfg file which I backed up.

It would appear then that some change was perhaps made to my original cfg file when I performed the update? I don't have much experience in dealing with scenery issues but I wonder if it possible to identify the section or sections of the cfg file where changes may have been implemented?

Or perhaps there is another better approach to recover the situation?

Many thanks for any help.

I cant remember the program I used to use, but Google "compare text files' and you will find numerous free programs that will do it for you.
