Random graphical glitch

Featured Replies

So I was enjoying NGX in the outside view while it was climbing and then decided to switch back to the VC view, to see how the things were goin' when I noticed this random glitch. Pictures included.

It was rising, until it reaches its maxima after which went back into its usual place.

At first I thought my GPU overheated, but it was about ~65C, so I guess that wasn't the issue. Driver problem, may be, but earlier flights were OK. This never happen again, so far at least :D.

That certainly was very, very random...

Have you tried using stability tweaks such as HIGHMEMFIX=1 and UIAutomationCore.dll as described in Word Not Allowed's Guide? Otherwise, it may just be that your computer is too weak to handle FSX without occasional graphics errors.

I think I have that highmem thingy.

Still strange glitch. I've been playing FSX for quite some time, more than a year with NGX, and never had something like that happen.

Can't see i've seen that one before either as yet. I've been having a few probs myself after a long flight if i go out and back in again to fsx my graphics seem to crash completely.

Maybe you need to check on your driver version and update it if possible.

I had exactly the same problem some months ago after a driver update, about 15 minutes into every flight, though my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2. Out of desperation, and as a last resort, I just reset the card to factory default in Catalyst, and everything was OK again. I have since updated Catalyst and drivers to the latest version without any problems.
