  1. Can anyone tell me the correct radio call-sign for SATA International? I have searched the net and got four different results from four different sources these are: Air Azores; Azores; Ocean; and SATA. Thanks.
  2. I bought this as soon as it was released. It's a beautiful piece of work. The designers say that they will be releasing a P3D installer in a couple of days time.>^..^<
  3. Thanks Tooting, but I have since followed the more expensive solution of ditching FSC v8.5, and purchasing FSC v9.5. Works great. >^..^<
  4. After I installed Airac 1408, Flight Sim Commander would no longer start. Luckily I had an old backup with 1312 on it, so at least it's running now. >^..^<
  5. Hi. Thanks for the replies, and the table LJ. Exactly Thomas, my next question would have been "Why?"
  6. Hi, I did a flight today, and was quite happily climbing through 20+000 feet, when the pressurization alarm started to sound; I had forgotten to switch the packs and bleed-air on. Should I interpret this alarm as "No point carrying on with your flight as all your passengers are dead", or is the situation recoverable? I mean, I know that turning on the bleeds and the packs would silence the alarm after a few minutes in the sim, but would anyone still be alive back there?
  7. I think the OP's talking about the same thing I have; kind of moire patterns against the black background of the displays. I could get rid of these in the NGX by just turning down the individual panel's brightness, but that doesn't fully work in the 777. I've just learned to get used to them. Kevin O'Connell
  8. George, If you are running under Windows 7, or Vista, and you have FSX installed to the default location, then you will need to run FSX as Administrator, otherwise the panel state won't save. Kevin O'Connell
  9. Just tried that Dave, and it works a treat. What astounds me is how Kevin figured out those parameters in the first place! Kevin O'Connell
  10. Kevinh covered this in a post entitled "Ground Handling Improvements", but as I can't figure out how to quote, here it is cut and pasted..... Recently I've been flying to smaller airports which have limited taxiways and rely on taxiing on the runway to the end, making a 180 deg turn and lining up for takeoff, or backtracking after landing. I've found the NGX has difficulty in making a 180 deg turn on a standard width runway without putting a wheel on the grass. You can just make it by keeping speed very low and beginning on the extreme edge of the runway. It shouldn't be that much of a problem for a 737, even a 747 can manage it. So I did a little research and found the maximum nosewheel steering angle for all models is 78 degrees. In the aircraft.cfg files the steering limit is set at 60 deg. I increased the value to 78 and found the low speed turning circle to be much more realistic. You still have to take care, but the turning radius feels and looks more realistic.Anyone interested in trying the mod, open the aircraft.cfg file in notepad and search for "contact_points". The next line (beginning "point.0") contains the data for the nosewheel. The eighth number in the row is 60.0, change this to 78.0 and save the file (make sure windows doesn't automatically add a .txt extension to the file name). It's a simple change, but backup the original file in case.before:point.0=1, 26.230, 0.000, -8.191, 1100, 0, 1.125, 60.0, 0.714, 1.31, 0.725, 8.0, 7.5, 0, 245.0, 335.0after:point.0=1, 26.230, 0.000, -8.191, 1100, 0, 1.125, 78.0, 0.714, 1.31, 0.725, 8.0, 7.5, 0, 245.0, 335.0You'll need to repeat this for each NGX version.I had hoped this might improve pushback too, but that doesn't even get close to the original 60 deg maximum nosewheel angle so increasing the limit has no effect. 11. If you are running Vista or Windows 7 or 8, you will need to run FSX as administrator or the state won't be saved. Kevin O'Connell
  12. Is your engine cone just a white disc? If so I had the same problem until it was pointed out to me that this was because I was changing from one NGX variant to another, which the software doesn't like doing. If this is the case, the solution is to load something like a default Cessna, and then load in the NGX. I now always keep my default flight set up with a Cessna to overcome this problem. 13. Hi Jim. Got one myself a little while ago, but it's payware, from fs-repaints.co.uk. Normally £10, but there's a bit of a sale on at the moment and I believe you can pick it up for £8. Kevin O'Connell
  14. Thanks Dev. That did it for me. Kevin O'Connell
  15. Good point Oliver. It's just that I havent flown anything else since May 2011. Thank you Petja. That was it! Just had a flight EGKK-LIRN and it didn't happen once. Endless thanks! Kevin O'Connell
  16. Since I installed my new GTX670 card last week, whenever I attempt a flight I get the loading screen - ie. the black screen with a white box and black progress bar that you see at the start of a flight - every few minutes. It is worse on the ground, about every 2 or 3 minutes; just taxiing to the runway from the gate at EGLL it happened 8 times. It's a little less frequent after take-off, about once every 5 minutes, and when I reach cruise altitude, it just happens maybe once every 15 minutes. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the cause? It is driving me nuts! Kevin O'Connell
  17. This has happened to me now since I fitted an nvidia GTX670 last week. Kevin O'Connell
  18. I've been using mine for 3 years now without any problems whatsoever, and used together with the throttle quadrant, that gives me 18 buttons to map functions to. Kevin O'Connell Should have said; the 18-button count is due to the fact that the switches on the yoke are two-way. Kevin O'Connell

    Help!

You will need to save the panel state separately in the FMC. In the CDU Select PMDG Setup \ Panel State Save and give it a name and press the Exec button. When you load in your saved flight, just go to PMDG setup \ Panel state Load, Select your saved state, and Exec. Kevin O'Connell
  20. Oops! Sorry chaps. What I drag across to my second monitor is the CDU, which of course would be 2D, and the ATC window. Kevin O'Connell
  21. Personally, I've never used the 2D panels; I'm more than happy using the VC views, cycling through them with the "A" and "-A" keys, and each view is fully adjustable, and I can drag them across to my second display. Kevin O'Connell
  22. Mine are in \Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\PMDG 737 NGX\Flight Manuals. Kevin O'Connell
  23. Have you set the the options for the joystick not to over-ride the auto pilot? This is in the FMC - setup / options / simulation / page 2 set A/T manual over-ride to NEVER. Kevin O'Connell
  24. I had exactly the same problem some months ago after a driver update, about 15 minutes into every flight, though my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2. Out of desperation, and as a last resort, I just reset the card to factory default in Catalyst, and everything was OK again. I have since updated Catalyst and drivers to the latest version without any problems. Kevin O'Connell
  25. Now set my default flight up with a Cessna and everything is OK. Odd though, after I'd done that, my screenshot capture began working OK. Thanks everyone for posting. Kevin O'Connell
