  1. Can't see i've seen that one before either as yet. I've been having a few probs myself after a long flight if i go out and back in again to fsx my graphics seem to crash completely. Maybe you need to check on your driver version and update it if possible.
  2. Cheers wims. Yeah I have seen that video before Julian it is quite a good video, probably one of the vids that tempted me to be ready to buy fs2crew.
  3. I can't name any, which is why I said it was personal opinion - I don't speak for everyone and I certainly do not spread rumours. I personally have not tried windows 8 on any device be it a tab or a traditional desktop / laptop. I am only going off what I have either seen on adverts or have seen on the internet with other people making reviews or showing off the desktop - my opinion is that of my own only. The visuals and ergonomics of it is the prime reason for me not wanting to try it. In my personal opinion, Microsoft should have stook to what they know, but capitalism and 'progression' will always play a part in every multi-national when they feel they have to 'adapt' to a 'changing' audience and sometimes (if not alot of times) this results in an epic fail - where companies fall and are then replaced. I suppose this is just the nature of business on that scale. Most probably, as I've just got this licenced version of windows 7, I doubt I will be trying it any time soon if at all. XP lasted me for 7 years which I felt was long enough.
  4. I am doubtful that it will work with windows 8 due to the newness of the OS, but i've heard it can work with xp and 7. I personally don't like the layout and configuration of windows 8, it almoust has a windows 3.1 feel about it (from what i can tell anyway). May aswell be living back in 1993.
  5. Going to try FS2CREW when i've finished doing a few more tutorial 1 stage tests and finished on tutorial 2. After a while I think I will then buy fs2crew to deal with all the first officer / copilot work. I think doing it now will make me loose out on a great deal of understanding and awareness of the other tasks to do - even if they are the responsibility of the F/O. One step at a time I suppose.
  6. Hahaha. Yeah, he did good in all fairness in my unqualified perspective.
  7. Good idea, might try that next time
  8. True, but most of the time i'm finding that i'm being diverted from the true SID and following that is more important to me than the feel true factor provided by vatsim.
  9. Usually avoid atc most of the time, half of the time I don't even get to finish a SID without being told to go to an altitude that is prohibited by the actual SID or to go to a new waypoint, again contrary to the SID. And being booted out of the server for not responding to an ATC that didn't exist the few minutes before isn't very nice either and of course, that is also contrary to the real world ops so to speak. Ahh well, can't expect everything to be right. Don't know what you mean about 'dizzy' but I presume you mean - a confusing or difficult situation as a pose to actually suffering from light headedness lol.
  10. JFK ground "somebody didn't do something right" - "you can't just do....." [what the f** you want] hahaha.
  11. Thanks Arzaan, much appreciated
  12. Is this needed even if you have purchased the base package after the sp1 was released, well .. I bought the 738 a few weeks ago - do I need to install this too?>
  13. True, it is difficult to image, but not unheard of, i mean, there are often cases of what the police call "one under" here, when simply a person has given in to life and throws themself into the path of an oncomming train and the transport police have to deal with the aftermath. The question then is also would having a driver have made a difference - would it have prevented that person from injury or death. If the answer is yes, the service provider is compelled in my eyes to provide a driver or other preventative measures. I mean, whilst it is difficult to imagine, it is not entirely unforseeable.
  14. I am sure the PMDG support will be able to supply a new activation code, I presume they can do a search for yourself to verify authenticity of the original product. As for the software actually working, whilst I am sure (and I obviously do not speak for pmdg) that they will probably do their best to help with configuring it to run properly, I geuss (although I've not read them) that the terms include that they cannot warranty that your system will be compatible with the software. I.e. that it is actually going to work - because if it is a hardware issue they obviously can not warranty that it will work on all systems and on all driver software. I would equally be as frustrated if having bought it, it wasn't compatible or didn't run. Whilst I do recall some text saying that electronic delivery is not refundable, maybe if all fails and you ask nicely you never know.... That said, from a UK perspective, regardless of what is said like "no refunds can be given" there are some laws here which would ordinarily support a compulsary refund of monies paid, in particular what is the Distance Selling Regulations which could be enforced regardless of whether they say no refunds are available or not, however, this would not apply in this case, as the server is american based, and as it is located in america it will be the laws of the US that apply, I am not so familiar with those laws so couldn't help on that afront. Regards Nathan.
  15. Good point, often seeing money and profit are put before safety and life. It takes death to make them think "oh maybe that was a bad idea" before anything is done about it. They often refer to this as unforseen concequences, whereas I refere to it as virtual certainty lol.
  16. usually get in the 200's, but if your new at it, give it a while
  17. Can we order food from the menu? lol
  18. hahahaha
  19. 'He would certainly not be considered an expert witness, and if he was, he'd be able to back up his option with some verifiable evidence.' You would be surprised what, or should I say whom; would be considered an 'expert' witness in the world of law. Although, how much "weight" is attached to the aforsaid expert witness largely depends on the court and or the judge, the topic and the facts. How reliable the opinion becomes after it is scruitinised to the extent necessary (or not) it is hard to say lol. What was the topic again lol.
  20. We have metrolink here, mostly overground pmsl - but then again, that presents more of a risk based on the fact that cars are crossing the path of trams at times. Then again, I hate the tube anyway whether it is driver or driverless. If borris has his way everything will be unmanned, even houses. lol. But now im getting political.
  21. If not on vatsim and being shouted at to tune to a frequency which I checked and didn't exist 10 minutes ago! lol, I usually just check the metar at the intended destination and land as close to down wind as possible. It bugs me when vatsims controllers do that, they don't seem to get it that in BA virtual we are not allowed to pause as the system detects it and we loose the entire flight, add fuel or even go away from the computer as it detects that also and makes us file a manual position report every so often. So when you've checked to see who is online and no atc is online for your intended flight plan, you've got ready and took off, started a good SID and are about to do a few more procedures before you reach the end of a sid and then a bloomin controller boots you out of vatsim, it's not nice lol. Soap box rant over with.
  22. Each to there own then rob
  23. This got me really worried: fully automated unmanned flights are not so far away anymore. As far as I understand it, this technology is not so new, drone aircraft have been available to the military for a very long time, or so it seems. People, or passengers, will dictate whether this would work or not; I personally wouldn't step foot on a non human piloted aircraft, the same as I wouldn't step foot on a driverless london underground tube train - I'm all for technology but it is intended to assist or supplement - not to replace.
