Regarding the other topic.Got 2 kids myself, boy 5 and girl 2.I cant bear the thought of them hurting or beeing without their father. So as a parent,I know just how it feels.I wish you all the best.

I replied there but it seems the topic went off the to big mod bin in the sky *g*John, I have some experience with cancer. An Aunt of mine has suffered from cancers for about as long as I have been able to remember. I am 18 now so that is quite a long time to be suffering. Her only help (however little it is) is morphine. It is terrible to see the ravages from cancer.John you are one of the good guys here at AVSIM among us hotheads and overly opinionated folks like myself. I wish you luck, and I hope the troubles you are suffering from now are not anything terrible, and not the precursor to more trouble.

Dear John,Obviously I've missed the post, but I fear it is something to do with a cancer patient in your family. I watched my mother go that way, and also an ex wife . . . cancer, depending upon where it is, and the age and when and how soon they catch it, is about as different as night and day. My mom went quickly, and my ex hung on for years and lived a most productive life for some time . . . go figure. There is no rhyme or reason, but I know if it hadn't been for the local Hospice in Syracuse NY where my mother was, I would have packed her up and taken her to England where they have excellent programs for cancer patients -- or at least so I have been told.Mom was on the morphine, and it did take away the majority of the pain, however, it also took away the majority of 'mom' with the time she had left . . . for the most part she slept alot.If you'd like to e mail me, I'd be glad to be a friend, recommend someone or whatever I could do . . . We also are a family here in the flight sim community. And you do have people you can lean on.MY best to you and yours and my prayers for your loved one.Clayton T. Thanks Clay... (and to the others)Since you missed the post Clay, briefly I'll tell you I became ill a couple weeks back right after I uploaded the Eclipse to the library here (that night I ended up in the hospital). I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. Subsequent test show that I have a pattern of symptoms which warrants referral to a surgeon. The doctor didn't say she suspects cancer--I think that's still a stretch and in any case, with the pancreas there's not much hope once pain sets in. So I'd rather not believe she suspected that. But my father had three different types of cancer in him when he passed on, so I guess I will be stressed until the surgeon can do whatever he does and rule it out, since I know the odds are higher in my case than most folks. And if I'm sicker than I think, I'll deal with that and take things as they come. Now if I'm so sick I miss Eaglesoft's rollout of the Citation I, then I'll be seriously depressed :)-John

Hi John,This is shocking news! The thoughts of all here are with you and your family.GregP.S. Couldn't hurt to explain to the surgeon the importance of being ready to fly when the Citation I is ready for roll-out. :-)

I'm very sorry to hear all of that John. I wish you all the best with this situation.Regards,Kreg

JohnI'm so sorry you've been diagnosed with suspected pancreatitis, but from a simple Google search on the subject, it appears that in most cases the condition sorts itself out in time.I hope and pray that's what happens in your case.Best wishes for a speedy recovery.Toni.

Hello again John,Well, I have found, (and it is difficult, at best), that to worry, (and I am slso the worlds worst offender of this), does nothing but put more aggro in your system and that, of course, just makes things that much worse.I know that doesn't mean much, however, like I said, I had one ex who had a serious case of breast cancer and fought it for years, determined not to let it beat her. She held on 6 years more than the doctors said she would and functioned pretty normal for all but the last few months.I had another ex, (yeah I know, been married a few times) who tried to kill herself with drinking for years, was told that if she didn't quit, she was a gonner in 3 months. She didn't, and held on for 10 years and her biggest problem was her pancreas -- go figure. I figured that she did that just to aggravite me more . . . In all seriousness, doctors today have some pretty mean stuff to deal with anything if they catch it soon enough, so don't dispair, I have a feeling you'll be around long after FS10 is out and obsolete. Again, you and your family are in my prayers, and if you just want to let off some steam or just talk, shoot me an e mail.Best, and don't give up!!!Clay

John, my best wishes for your prompt recuperation.I am a foreign physician in the pursuit of a certification in the USA. Although I am not certificated here, I have an extense experience in my country, specially in surgery. I can not tell you Do not worry, that is a normal response to illness, it is our human nature. However, Pancreatitis and a referral to a surgeon does not necessarily means cancer. Pancreatitis is a fairly common disorder, and its presentation and causes are very variable; Most of us have suffered pancreatitis at least once or twice in our lives, most of us have never gone to the doctor, since the simptoms are usually few. In this case the odds that your pancreatitis is nothing serious are strongly with you. I am hopefull that is nothing serious and that your surgeon just want to check that it does not happen anymore.John,As you know, our prayers are with you.

Thanks Gabriel...I was puzzled why I was referred to a surgeon, since all other factors (drinking, gallstones, etc) have been ruled out. I suspected I had a hernia, but I was told the CAT scan would have caught it. So I wonder what a surgeon can do that a PCP can't since most diagnostic tools (CAT scan, MRI, Ultrasound) are non-invasive and can be ordered by my PCP. The only test out of the three (excluding blood tests) I haven't had is an MRI. My pancreatitis is stable--enzyme counts are down from what they were when I was in the hospital. Meanwhile, on a brighter note--Autoland 2004 is done and I'm just working on the documentation. I hope to upload it to the library here in the near future. I'm also working on some repaints for the Eclipse--these things keep me distracted from what I've been dealing with :)-John

Sorry to hear about this, John, and wish you a speedy recovery. All the best.
