January 9, 201313 yr Hi, I've been having some troubles with my TrackIR5 device lately. It seems that it only happens when I'm simming when it's daytime outside and I turn my Saitek yoke to the left. What happens is that the view sort of "buzzes" and stops responding to my head movements for about 10-20 seconds (I'm using the regular TrackClip on a baseball cap by the way.) Interestingly, this also only happens when I'm on short final, which is very annoying. I've never had this issue during the other parts of the flight. If this helps, I'm seated about two metres (6 feet approx.) from a large window, and I'm in Australia, so it's a pretty bright summer's day. Thanks in advance. Thanks, Kevin L
January 9, 201313 yr It's the light! Remember TIR is a camera, try shutting the curtains or positioning the cam so it is out of direct sunlight. The same thing happened to me when I first used it! It is mentioned in the manual. This does not happen with pro clip ( I have both). Little late in my reply, but, I agree, it is most likely light contamination to the IR sensor. Consider adjusting the light filter threshold. I believe it is normally set at 108. Lower the value to 70 or so and see if you have less of a problem. You can find the light filter threshold by clicking on the "camera" tab under Advanced Settings. The number doesn't appear to be adjustable, however, if you click on the number a slider will appear allowing adjustment. Regards, Danny
January 18, 201313 yr Moderator Just as a fyi, it is amazing how sensitive the TIR sensor is! I have my sims set up in a small room. FSX on one side and on the opposit side is my P3D system. There is a small window off to one side which causes no light issues. One day while I was flying the P3d system, my TIR started going bonkers. I tried all sorts of things, reloading drivers, etc. Ultimately I found the culprit. I use TrackClip Pro on both systems ( I have two TIR sets) - I had taken off the set from one system and left the headset lying on the desk across the room BUT I had the TIR "arms" pointed toward the system across the room. So my P3D sim was getting input from my TrackCLip on my headset AND from the headset across the room! I learned something from that. WIsh I had discovered it before the uninstall/reinstall cycle.
