FS Water for $15? How about FS BS....

This is an excellent idea and one that Tom Main supports in full. We are very confident that the videos will help everyone here to better understand the product and what the objectives of the product are.Great idea!

I bought FS Water today, and I'm very happy with it. This is a top quality addon. If you dont like it, you dont have to buy it. I dont get why so many peoples are saying that this should be a freeware, did you tried it?. I did, and I'm glad that I bought FS Water.Jack

I still think that nothing can touch Ed Truthan's original work. And he is an oceanographer. Michael J.

Hi,I agree with you 100%. That's just what I did when I downloaded Bill Lyons textures all those months ago. The screen shots looked great. Unfortunaley, for me, a static shot does not show or give a true representaion of "feel" I did not like the feel of the Lyons textures. Just my personal view.Unfortunately, for FS Water, stactic shots do not really show it off to it's best ability. Dissapointing for me to be honest.Peter Wilding

>Unfortunately, for FS Water, stactic shots do not really show>it off to it's best ability.Exactly!Jack

Thanks Peter for your work. As I said earlier, I purchased FS Water and am very happy with it. Please don't let a few folks discourage your efforts.

Thanks for that Jack. Wow! Someone actually bought. Better tell my wife we got a sale!Funny thing is you actually have some experience of using the product. smiling a lot!Peter Wilding

Thanks for that George. Can't tell you how encouraging it is to have the ocasional vote of confidence.Faithfully, Peter Wilding

He did a brilliant job Michael. I agree with you 100%. These textures though were never designed to work with environment textures though. These that are exclusive for FS9.I would be very, very pleased if Ed teamed up with us so we could make an even better version in the future, perhaps for FS10.Hope so!Peter Wilding

Well, I was one of the people sent a free copy by Tom Main and after having flown around and tried the installed sample flights I paid for it anyway, for 2 reasons:1. Because it is a good product. The interface is excellent and the overall effect is very pleasing, subtle and not "in your face" as it should be in real life (I am also pilot).2. Probably the more relevant one, as an outright encouragement to the developer who has been treated very poorly, look no further than the title of this thread. Calling anything BS off the bat without having even tried it is abusive and deserves the utmost contempt. My previous login expired hence me new one and low number of posts but I am also an FS software developer, payware (greedy) and freeware (non-greedy) for many years now having been a reader of AVSIM from issue 1 (downloadable) and I am appalled at what is going on here.On the other hand it has served to hightlight the product more than it probably would of been without this nonsense, the ultimate backfire.Best regards,Peter Wilding/Tishma :(

>And I have to say that FSWater has no competitor.>The water textures are excellent. They are a balance between>the various freeware textures we already know. There is a>variety of subtile colors that I never saw in FS2004.>The dawn/dusk atmosphere is fantastic.>David in jerusalem >>:-cool Thank you ever so much David.I can't tell you how delighted I am to see that someone appreciates my efforts. The dawn/dusk atmosphere is something I spent hundreds of hours on tweaking and testing colours, highlights, making it work in different regions and so it goes on.I doubt if many people will ever try these sun-sets/riese out but if you are the only person on this planet who really appreciates this atmosphere tben it has been more than worth it.David from Jerusalem, you are truly a man of God! Your heart is full of good things. We have lessons to learn from you.Peter Wilding

Man, and I was thinking of releasing a payware version of my 'flatten file'...I think it's a pretty good file, and it solves a hill problem on an island somewhere. However, file is too small so was going to try and beef it up to like 45mb with some big textures and give it a 500-page manual and an auto-installer with some adverts of some other great new stuff I might bring out..Anyone care to part with $20??P

Cute "P" But I'll pass. It's obvious from your post that you wouldn't have the mental capacity to come up with anything that is useful.

Back fire........mmmmh,Well, I don't think the thread was started of with much thought other than to jump to opinions based on no understanding at all. That said it is very easy to jump the gun and I for one have done that in the past.I remember downloading Pro Flight 98, an excellent product. In fact it's probably one of the best ever add-ons for FS98. But when I first go it I ranted like Hell at Marty (publisher) and got on the phone and gave him a piece of my mind, and it was rage!I said it was not what I wanted not what I expected and it was rubish. I eat my words now because Marty calmed the beast in me down, and said I could have my money back but first I should give it more time and give it a really good looking at. And I did and guess what....I gave it more time and it became my favorite add on. I ate my words and through that experience I liked it so much I did one of the first voice sets for proflight 98 and then met up with Tom Main. And now in full circle, I'm the one getting ripped apart. But I know given time these folk will be one over. Most importantly Tishma, thank you ever so much, for giving it a try and for a vote of confidence.Peter Wilding
