Blueprint sim AFCAD and ADE9X issue

Featured Replies

I'm trying to do a small edit to the aircraft parking at the B-gates at Blueprint sim's KIAH. The only thing I am doing is adding more regional airlines that can park at these gates. No edits are being made to the airport layout itself. When I compile the airport, I get an error message regarding bglcomp (doesn't say spwcifically what problem is). Nonetheless, an AFCAD.bgl file is created. When I open the airport in FS9, I do have aircraft parked at the gates I edited, but taxi signs, taxiway markings and Blueprint's airport roads and buildings are scattered and out of position. I have edited other add-on airport AFCADs with zero problem, so this appears to be a Blueprint sim issue. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there any way to edit the AFCAD gates without affecting the rest of the AFCAD? I did back up the original AFCAD, so all is good. I use FS9.

First can you find the file called log.tx1 in the FS9 folder inside ADE and email it to me - jon AT scruffyduck DOT co DOT uk so I can look at the BglComp Error.

When you load the Bgl file to do the editing is everything there? that is are the signs and buildings there or are they in a different Bgl file?

Is there a photoreal part of this scenery?

Hey Guys,

Sounds like a similar issue I had with KDTW from Blueprint - couldn't compile changes... I don't think Blueprint used ADE for the work... KDTW needed a bunch of help... This was where you recommended the - extended compile option - Jon... While it did compile in this mode I had numerous issues with the scenery while testing after that... Missing taxiways and such... I resorted to making my changes with the old AFCAD2 program...

Scott

Jon, I'll send you the file this evening. There is no photoreal scenery, and buildings are not part of AFCAD. Scott, I thought about trying AFCAD2. Good to know you had success.

I d sure like that afcad when you finish. I use KIAH frequently..

Yes you might need to use AFCAD if the Extended Compile does not do the job. The problem is that the MS FS9 BglCompiler runs into trouble with complex airports. because AFCAD has its own compiler it does not run into this problem. The problem was fixed for the FSX BglCompiler but that is no help for FS9.

Using Swordy's old AFCAD did the trick. Now I have traffic at the B gates and the airport itself is fine. Jon, I'll send that file today if you still want it. Having a 3 year-old boy will make you forget things.

Denver, PM me your email address and I'll be happy to send the AFCAD. I basically added the major United Express partners to the B gates. Make sure you have AI for the United Express regional airlines installed (I assume you have already).
