SCM2004 for editing scenery.cfg

Featured Replies

I have been trying to make my SCM2004 work with FSX for editing the scenery.cfg. But somehow can't make it work although I did include the path to scenery.cfg and also the backup.

I tried to look around a lot but just unable to find any guidance. I did find this post and tried the process mentioned but nothing seems to work. (Link to post http://forum.avsim.net/topic/286118-scm2004-replacement/)

Could anyone guide me through this process, so I could use the scm 2004 for FSx on my windows 7 (64bit).

Thanks in advance

Regards

I use the Scenery Config Editor V1.1.1 and it works great with FSX. Sorry I can't help you on the SCM2004 operation though.

Best regards,

Jim

I used to use Scenery manger from Fs2004 for FSX and it worked great.

The scenery path needs to be seth to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX.

But since yeterday I moved over to SceneryConfigEditor which doe exactly the same and more.

It also checks for double entries, errors in the paths and you can make groups ( eg Europe , US etc ) .

So this is the program you need.

vybhav,

1. Go to your main FSX folder and copy "FS9.exe". This is the file that SCM2004 needs to see in order to function in FSX.

2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX. That's where the FSX scenery.cfg file resides. (FYI... there are scenery.cfg files in other locations as well, including the main FSX folder, but they are not used.)

3. Paste "FS9.exe" into that folder.

Open SCM2004, go to settings, and point it to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX.
