Nor am I, but I am pretty sure that one of the configuration steps from a cold and dark cockpit involves verifying that the flaps indicated matches the flap lever position.

Please re-read my post. I am saying the panel and the flap lever are both showing 1 whereas the plane somehow does not think so. Moving flaps to 5 then retracting all the way and extending to 1 is the only way to fix the problem. Unless developers have intended to do this, it sounds like a bug.

It sounds more like a corrupted saved flight as others don't have this issue. I think you need to save your flight again and see if it solves before calling it "bug". Start from a default panel state that let you have a working and correct panel state.

If you will find again the problem with a correct saved flight, so, send a support ticket to the support team, the ngx is waiting for its latest service pack, the problems, if present, will be corrected.

For the LE devices, there is no need to go to the aft overhead panel to check lights, there are 2 lights just below flaps indicator, just check that LE FLAP TRANSIT is off (LE FLAPS EXTENDED green light on)

However this is not the case, it seems a saved flight issue.

Hello,

I had the same problem... every time I pushed the TO/GA button, the warning sound start and last untill "positive rate of climb"... the configuration was "by the manual"... I tried everything to solve, but the only thing that made the warning disappear was setting the speed on MCP to a maximum of 10kts above V2 of the FMC (before I used to set 20kts). I don't know if it is correct... but no more warning for me! ;)

Like already told, there is no relation between MCP, autopilot, autothrottle (except for throttle advancing) FMC, CDU and so on with the take off configuration. If the sound stops at lift off (so when your wheels are in air) so it is the configuration warning.

This means that you missed at least one thing or, you have not waited LE devices to come out.

Check your trim in green band

Check your flaps, must be between 1 and 25, and be sure that they are not in transit before 1 or after 25.

Check your slats either with the LE FLAPS TRANSIT (amber) light (must be off, LE FLAPS (Green) EXTENDED on) and on the overhead panel (most upper left section) that all LE flaps and slats are in the relative green position.

Check for speedbrakes, they must NOT be armed or obviously extended.

If the problem continues try another panel state or cycle all the above from up to down and viceversa.:)
