Is it possible to perform functions that the FO would normally do without messing up the flow?

For instance, I would like to control the air packs and configure that panel myself before starting the engines.

I have an external device (cougar MFD) that I can use instead of using a mouse.

Does the FO check the position of a switch before operating it or is it coded to just toggle the switch.

Did a quick search and did not find anything on this.

Most switches are directly controlled, not just blindly toggled, so no problems there.

 

You should be okay.
