August 22, 200421 yr I use NL2000's freeware EHAM ....my question is what is with EHAM ATC?using AFCAD2 I have closed Rwy 06 for takeoff and still the AI and I are asked to use it for takeoff ..it would appear no matter what the wind direction is!Lee (Midnight music) said:"I read somewhere on another forum that the theory about EHAM is that because it is below sea level the FS9 ATC doesn't register wind changes so that ATC will only assign runways 24 or 6. It's very frustrating."..Is this really the My FS Videos
August 23, 200421 yr Ed, I've been wondering if it would be possible to try an experiment with the default EHAM. What I would do is raise the elevation of the airport via the Jabbgl utility to say 1 foot above sea level, then take a default AFCAD and adjust it as well and then try playing with the weather to see if ATC will use different runways. I'll post here after I try that experiment.Lee Lee H i9 13900KF 64GB Ram 24GB RTX 4090
August 23, 200421 yr Author Hi Lee, looking forward to hearing from you :)I looked a bit closer to my NL2000 AFCAD and found there were some problems.1. a faulty start point @ Rwy 36R ...fixed2. Rwys were named Rwy 36C/18C ..renamed them Rwy 18C/36C (apparently the order is important)3.This may be confusing ATC ...the ILS names (which need more than AFCAD2 to change) for eg :Airport: EHAM, Rwy: 19R, IDENT: SP, Name :CAT III ILS 18CAirport: EHAM, Rwy: 1R, IDENT: SC, Name :CAT II ILS 36RAirport: EHAM, Rwy: 1L, IDENT: SA, Name :CAT III ILS/DME 01L4. I have these settings for my EHAM Rwy's is this correct a la real world?06: closed for takeoff, open for landing24: closed for landing, open for takeoff18L: closed for takeoff and landing36R: closed for takeoff, open for landing18C: open for landing, closed for takeoff36C: closed for both18R: open for both36L: open for both5. As of now my ATC no longer instructs us or AI to use Rwy 06 for t/o....thank the Lord! ...usually I get Rwy36L or Rwy18Rfor landing ...usually I get Rwy36L or Rwy18R as well with options on Rwy36C or Rwy18C : My FS Videos
August 23, 200421 yr Ed In the real world it would be this:06: closed for takeoff, open for landing24: open for takeoff, closed for landing18L: open for takeoff, closed for landing36R: closed for takeoff, open for landing18C: closed for takeoff, open for landing36C: open for takeoff, closed for landing18R: closed for takeoff, open for landing36L: open for takeoff, closed for landing09: open for takeoff, closed for landing27: closed for takeoff, open for landinghttp://www.flightfactory-simulations.com/h...B_testpilot.jpg[a href=http://www.ifdg.net]--iFDG website!--[/a]
August 23, 200421 yr Hello,I encountered another problem with NL2000 scenery. After installing this freeware, EBBR (Brussels Airport) all of a sudden was covered with trees. Taxiways, runways, every twenty meter a nice green tree.I had to uninstall NL2000 in order to be able to fly out again from Brussels.Juul Tango,Hasselt, Belgium.
August 23, 200421 yr I hate to cut in on this thread, but I figure this is my one chance...Schiphol, how does on pronounce this??Chip-Pole?orShe-a-pole?or... somthing elsejust curious(I also have the same question about Philatus aircraft - I will keep an eye out for that thread also):-) CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
August 24, 200421 yr Isn't it just pronounced as SHE-POLL? I think ATC has the pronunciation pretty much correct with this one! There's a couple of very odd ATC utterings with a few European airports that I have noticed though.....Luton Airport (London) is sometimes correctly pronounced as LOO-TUN, and sometimes incorrectly as LUTT-'N !Sola (Norway) is sometimes correct as SOW-LA, sometimes as S'-LAA, or SOO-LA, and whilst with Sola, ATC has difficulty with it's other name of Stavanger: it should be pronounced as STa-VANGer; ATC sometimes uses STAVAN-JER, or STAV-ANGER.There's a big article on the MS FS9 site telling how they worked so hard with all the 'vocal talent' to ensure that they got all the pronciations JUST right! :) Never mind, eh!Anyway, I was going to add to the main theread by asking if that NL2000 scenery is worth installing...I'd like an improved Schipol airport, but if there's a lndclass problem that causes trees to grow all over EBBR, then I'm a bit cautious as I have a very nice EBBR installed!
August 24, 200421 yr 24 is open for landing (used mainly by freighters and commuters).36C is open for landing (used to be closed until last year, open now and used during parallel approaches with 36R).27 is open for takeoff (rarely used). 04-22 is open for all operations in both directions.
August 24, 200421 yr Author Well my NL2000 EHAM does not look like most....as I have removed a fair bit of it! :-lol ...in fact I think I only kept Schiphol and Rotterdam ...if only I could remember how I did it! *:-*http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/89003.jpg...it certainly does not interfere with beautiful Brussels! :9http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/89004.jpg My FS Videos
