When should you say to the ground crew "You are clear to diconnect and go to hand signals"I ask this because I say it after the pushback ends,but I have said it a couple of times that I cant remember exactly when and the first officer has said something like" I see the pin" .Is this the start of A.I ? or am I losing my mind waiting for NGX emergency!!

The start crew guy will hold up the pin so you can see that it's actually out. The FO might say it depending on the direction of the pushback turn.

 

You can clear the start crew to disconnect after the start crew tells you the pin has been removed.
