Flickering text in 10.20.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I've been playing around with the 10.20 beta (and now the rc) and have noticed something annoying. I first noticed this when using the ATR-72. Text was disappearing now and then from the fmc (and from pfd now and then). It has a tendency to flicker on and off, hardly ever being clearly legible. Now I have noticed this in the default 747. At first I blamed the video card. However having some time to spare, I installed a second version of XP and just updated it to the latest stable 10.10. The problem then goes away. Am I the only one experiencing this?

Edit: aw, seems like HDR was causing it. Maybe a bug report is in order, then..

May not even be a bug. HDR antialiasing solutions are going to be shown in their poorest light in the situation you describe unless you really crank up the AA; and then you have to deal with the reduced frame rate.......

I really don't like current deferred rendering methods.

IMHO you should report it while 10.20 is still in RC. These kind of bugs are often specific to a GPU driver version, don't forget to join your log.txt.
