Problems with Shez Ansari's Santa Ana scenery?

Featured Replies

"just checked the Library, and there's no 2002 version"Your wrong there is an fs2002 edition. I have the fs2002 edition installed successfully into fs2004 as well.Just use keywords Santa Ana and it brings up 13 hits.

Yep I can confirm that problem. I develop my sceneries in FS2002 before checking them in FS2004 just because FS2002 allows instant updating on scenery when in development. The large vehicles is one such issue I get in FS2002 and I think it may be something to do with the latest Airport program.RegardsShez

This is an update on my compass-bearing problem. I noticed the problem at another airport for which I had just installed another FS9 scenery into FS2002. I started having other problems, so I checked my scenery.cfg file and noticed I was right at that fuzzy upper limit around 310-315 sceneries. I deleted a few, and finally got back to a configuration where KSNA did NOT give me a compass-bearing problem. While I was adding sceneries back in to see how far I could go, I did find one that gave me troubles, although by this time I'm wary of pointing compass needles at sceneries.

Another update on the compass bearing problem. After installing the KPSP (Palm Springs) scenery, I noticed a 180-degree rotation at KLAX, where I use mostly the default scenery. This time, I took the time to systematically eliminate sceneries until the problem went away. Oddly, the scenery that was causing this problem was not in Southern California at all, but was instead a multi-scenery folder where I put a number of oil-rig sceneries. I can't say which of the oil-rigs was causing the problem, since they're all in that folder together, but there is something very funny with one of these things. I am running FS2002, so there may be some backward-incompatability problem at work here.

I had a similar experience where I was crashing every time I started at KSFO. It wasn't until I tracked it down to some scenery in NEVADA! (500 miles away), that I finally was able to resolve the issue.
