February 10, 201313 yr Until recently I've been able to hide my RC4 window using the key combination or clicking the 'x' in the upper right hand corner of the RC4 window. Now when I push the key combo nothing happens and when I click the 'x' the window disapppears but then automatically reappears after a few seconds. The window won't stay hidden and I don't know why. February 11, 201313 yr It is normal operation for the window to hide until RC communicates via voice or text at which point it will automatically reappear. Do not click the X in the RC/FSUIPC window. Try this to hide the window. In you modules folder copy fsuipc.ini to a folder outside of FS as a backup file. Then open in the modules folder FSUIPC.ini in notepad or wordpad or other text editor. In the general section add the line: AdvDisplayHotKey=88,10 which assigns ctrl-x as a hot key combo (hold down ctrl while typing x) to close the window (or open it if closed). In normal operations the advdisplay window is the FSUIPC blue transparent window now used for RC. Here's a bonus. In that same general section add: WhiteMessages=Yes if you prefer white to the default red text.

September 23, 20169 yr Any chance we can pin this topic? Every time my FSUIPC gets screwy, I'm always hunting down this tip to get the window to hide.
September 23, 20169 yr Why not create a document folder called FS9 or FSX Tips and Tricks and then subfolders as you wish. Start a new file in there and then copy/paste desired information into it. Occasionally copy this folder to a USB flash stick as backup. By having this file locally you'll have a backup should the relative posts disappear from AVSIM due to server problems and you'll have your convenient off-line copy. The raw information is in the advanced user guide for FSUIPC in the modules folder. This function is available for non-paid user registrations. In my posted information I took care of changing the key sequence to specific non-conflicting characters.
