LatinVFR KeyWest, not impressed.

Featured Replies

After seeing the great work these developers do with other areas in FS9 I decided to purchase the Key West scenery they offer. I was surprised at how little effort was done outside of the airport. I know the scenery can't look like the FSX version but wonders can still be done in FS9 like what we've seen with FlightZones Portland area and Rhode Island. Key West looks like crap in FS9 using this scenery. I was surprised by the lackluster effort that went into the surrounding scenery in the FS9 version...

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

any info about the FSX version?

I was thinking of getting that one

Not too surprised FS9 version is lacking "outside the airport" though....

I like the FSX version. But again, I'm not looking for a lot of stuff outside the fence. There is stuff outside the fence and there are some neat sound files. I have quite a few things from LatinVFR:

Key West

Kingston - Jamaica

Montego Bay - Jamaica

Bermuda

Their Montego Bay in FS9 looks great (surrounding area included). This is why I can't understand the Key West effort.

I agree, the fs9 version looks like poop  but the fsx version is ok.

What's keeping you from going to FSX?

FSX = FS2000 of yesteryear ....... marginal improvements over prior version while running a whole lot worse.

Yep...I understand that, but with Prepard3d 2.0 on the horizon I would start to think of maybe upgrading. Support is also going to be a issue down the road...even for me running FSX...I'm now watching very closely to Lockhead Martin's progress.

I have an older i7-860 that's overclocked, but wished I would have bought the i5's, there better for gaming and overclocking according to Tomshardware. I follow them for bench marks. www.newegg.com has some pretty good deals.

You can't count on Prepard3d 2.0's performance until it's actually out on user's machines, that's the true test. We've been to that party before and the only successful outcome I've seen recently from Microsoft was Flight.
