Tracker XP v2.0 (64 bit)

Featured Replies

Tried this for 5 mins with my webcam and just got no joy whatsoever.

Went straight back to my TrackIR 5 which works just great in X-Plane and a whole bunch of other stuff including OpusFSX and Euro Truck Simulator 2.

If you're a flight simmer and don't have a TrackIR, get one! :-)

Yes 100% agree Glen. In my opinion the TrackIR is the single best thing I have ever bought for the flight sim hobby. Although for some reason I still cant get it to work as well as I had it in FS2004. It was spot on in that software. But for some reason (and i'm certain it's something I haven't tweaked) I can't get it quite right in FSX or XP. Not sure why. Its a little difficult to describe what wrong, kind of a floating feeling sometimes, hmmm. BUT regardless its an absolute necessity for flight simmingnas long as you wrestle the credit card off the wife...until the Oculus Rift comes along.

If you are using TrackIR with X-Plane you might want to consider using it with X-Camera. That should eliminate that floating field. X-Camera applies the TrackIR offsets on every X-Plane flight loop with out any added dampening which X-Plane seems to add with its direct integration to TrackIR.

By the way, I have not tried TrackerXP so I can't comment on how well it works. I can say I can't fly without TrackIR. It feels like you are really in the cockpit and if you fly GA aircraft and are trying to fly the pattern it is the only way to really judge when you should turn to base and final..

Take a look at the X-Camera demo:

You have produced an excellent product Mark!  I use it all the time with my TrackIR and it is a great improvement over the basic X-Plane functions.

I use an alternative to TiR which gives very good results in all simulators and games that I've used it in - particularly effective in X-Plane.  Softwa is provided by FaceTrackNoIR, used with a PS3Eye camera (£12) and a delanclip (£22).  The DelanClip gives 3 Infra-red LEDs for the webcam to pick up in the same way that the TrackIR clips work.  Gives full 6 degrees of freedom movement, very smooth and responsive and curve editing to allow tuning to the application you're using it for.  For £34 its certainly a much more pocket friendly choice.
