As you know already I have my dx10 running fine with steve fantastic software.

Also the rain fix did it good job

I am happy with it and dont want to go back anymore.

I have set according the guidelines in grafic the multisample per pixel etc on both 4

and in nividia inspector 4x 4 3d3 although i have not any 3d installed

and 4xgrid etc.

starting in khqm bowerman i noticed flickering on the runway but dont know if this is a wellknown question

but as soon as i put gray and rainy then the fps drop seriously

so from 30 fps max to 17 fps

any idea what i could do on those two things

1- flickering will be gone if i put in NI 8xq and 8x grid but hten i have problems with the fps

2- rain problem put my fps down

Hi paula; Congratulations on getting most of your DX10 problems fixed!

 

Would you copy your system specs into your Profile, so that it shows up under your Avatar picture, please, and then, would you copy your fsx.cfg, and then rename the copy as "paula_fsx.txt".

Once you've done this - attach it to your next post, please - don't simply copy the whole fsx.cfg into the posting window.

Hi paula.... What is "it" that says you are not permitted?

i have a couple of things i dont know how it works1-i have copied cfg folder and changed the name. i click on more reply options and try to attach the folder and then got the message. second i want to take a screenshot from my nvidia inspector in windows 8. it says windows+printscreen and it should be in the picture folder but i dont see it.

For a screenshot, first press Print Screen, then open paint and click on Edit\paste.

Your screenshot will then appear and you can reduce the size to fit on this forum page.

 

I prefer to use Paint.Net which is free and has many more features than MS Paint.

i have Always a fight with this one. i downloaded and got after install the message (null) and a lot of info. paint.net is on my computer with an icon but after print screen there is nothing in paint.net

First press print screen and then open Paint.net and do this, it will ask if you want to expand the canvas, say yes and you will see what was on your screen, thus.........

Windows 7 use the snipping tool ? Start >> All Programs >> Accesories

 

Windows 8 - Frame it & post it to a PO Box , I am sure windows 8 has the snipping tool somewhere

ncooper. it dont ask me to open it. if i clcik on edit then nothing is highlighted

each time try a different supplier but as soon as i download there is an error so that the free program cannot be used.

i dont know why but this does not work on my computer.

could you shine your light over the details i sent you above and also the most important ones in the nvidia inspector which are. antialising behaviour= none/mode= override/setting=4xmultisampling/transparancy 4xsparse grid/anisotropic=application controlled/vertical sync=1/2 refresh rate

Paula - there isn't enough detail here for me to form any meaningful opinion as to what you should do, or change. A 3770K at 4.6, with a 680 should be a very hot pc, and should be able to manage most normal "High" settings. FSX with DX10 will be a fabulous experience.

 

Unfortunately - to get the many nenefits of DX10, there's a bit of hard work to be done - most of us here don't have to "guess what settings will work": most of us know what settings to use, but it's certainly not, as someone suggested, done by deleting the fsx.cfg, and it's not a simple, quick, "press a button, do this, and it's done" fix to get FSX - DX10 running in the way that will surprise you - it is way better than when using DirectX 9.

 

Your pc will easily do this, and we will help you get your pc to that point - even to connecting into your pc to work with you, if you want - we have Teamspeak and Teamviewer: in the interim you need to supply us with the solid information we are asking for. When I say the fsx.cfg, copied and renamed as "Paula_fsx.txt" attached or posted where we can actually see every line - that's what I need in order to move forward.

 

I suggest a dropbox, or Mediafire, or other file storing/sharing site, so that - if you feel you can't attach them here - you can post a link. Please do this, and we can begin the process properly! OK? :good:

although i have found the right spot with the settings in dx 10 it Always triggers me why i cannot get make a screenshot and now i have downloaded dropbox i dont know what to do with it.
