February 18, 201313 yr I'm getting ready to do a clean install of FSX. I have FSX Gold with Acceleration. Is there any performance advantage to using Acceleration versus the Service Packs or vice versa?
February 18, 201313 yr Commercial Member No, they're the same code-wise - I'd use Acceleration if you have it just because it gives you additional scenery and features that certain addons might potentially use. February 18, 201313 yr There are many reports of slight differences in the code as well. There was a thread about it a while back: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/393055-difference-between-sp2-and-acceleration/ I'd go for Acceleration. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!
February 18, 201313 yr I have just been through this exercise and went the acceleration route. While I do see a difference in FPS and smoothness, due i think, to following the AVSIM guide and using Word Not Allowed's info, I feel that I have a more stable NGX & FSX and I definitely get more success with saved flights. However I must admit that my FSX had been acting up to the extent that I think I may have had some corruption problems. Regards, Rick Hobbs
