FSX reinstall. Acceleration v SP1/2

Featured Replies

I'm getting ready to do a clean install of FSX. I have FSX Gold with Acceleration. Is there any performance advantage to using Acceleration versus the Service Packs or vice versa?

No, they're the same code-wise - I'd use Acceleration if you have it just because it gives you additional scenery and features that certain addons might potentially use.

I have just been through this exercise and went the acceleration route. While I do see a difference in FPS and smoothness, due i think, to following the AVSIM guide and using Word Not Allowed's info, I feel that I have a more stable NGX & FSX and I definitely get more success with saved flights. However I must admit that my FSX had been acting up to the extent that I think I may have had some corruption problems.
