September 2, 200421 yr I guess it depends on what you expect from it :-)The reason you haven't seen much talk about it Terry is, I guess, that it has been out a while and those that have it are happy with it - just look at FDC forum for when the last post was :-)Best I can suggest is look at the features and see if they are what you want and if S-Combo is still available try that.FDC is an improved version of S-Combo which is/was free.If you like to have a FO in the cockpit with you either for verbal responses or for actually manipulating some of the FO's controls then you should enjoy FDC.HTH
September 3, 200421 yr I love FDC! I have had it for a long time now , and I use it often. It is a pretty nice program, but I dont understand why people are not sharing checklist and profiles they have created. I would have thought we would have a wealth of uploads for FDC by now. Then again I might be looking for them in the wrong place. I just make my own checklist and profiles now, but they are not all that acurate. I do think it is worth the money and I do not regret buying it at all.
September 3, 200421 yr I agree with the above-entirely, FDC is one of those programs that adds that extra bit of realism to a flight. Of course as the above poster mentions you have to do a fair bit of tinkering if you fly a/c which are not profiled although I understand that the new version will contain more.Tony

September 3, 200421 yr Hello All,FDC. Great product, works well, very few problems. My right hand everytime I fly the big stuff . . . don't leave the FBO without it.Worth every penny and great support.Best to all,Clayton T.Dopke (clay)Major, USAF (retired)Sundance Quarter Horses"Drac"
September 3, 200421 yr Hey guys,Thanks for the feedback. It looked like a neat program but I didn't know if there was a lot of pre-flight setup. . . profiles and such. And was there any meshing problems with the 737ng series by PMDG that has some cockpit call-outs of it's own. Thanks again,Terry
September 3, 200421 yr You'll have you're share of tweaking to do to get FDC to your liking; but you'll be sure to enjoy it. If the price doesn;t bother you, then go for it.I find it almost indespensible when flying the 73NG and RFP 742. You'll get spoiled with having a co-pilot performing flap and gear duty on takeoff and approach. You can concentrate on flying the profile instead of flipping switches during critical phases...
September 3, 200421 yr Very deceptive utility (In the best of ways). You need to really get with it to discover all that it offers. If you desire realizm, it is a MUST HAVE addon. IMHO.RTH

I kept reading how version 1.x could only function with addons which strictly adhered to MS autopilot which is essential the default aircraft functionality.
September 4, 200421 yr The reviews are in! I guess I'll have to toss one in the basket. Thanks for your opinion. All yeas. . . no nays. Can't go wrong with that.Terry
September 4, 200421 yr This is not really a negative (I guess), but I've had it sitting on the shelf for over a year and never use it. Used it once to try her out. Why... the profile setup. Takes too long for my patience to set up. Have to do research on every aircraft to get settings right. And I don't get into aircraft that deep. Of course once you do set it up correctly it was really good.Like the poster above said, if OnCourse would supply a boatload of pre-created profiles for a wide variety of aircraft and/or updates or if there we're a lot available in the library for d/l, I would probably brush the dust off her and use her again. In short.. works good but don't expect to just pop her in and take flyin' ;)
September 4, 200421 yr I believe you are referring to Performance Files, NOT Profiles.A Performance File setup requires you know something about the performance characteristics of the aircraft you are flying. Speeds and associated takeoff weights and landing weights. Flap settings for various speeds. Speeds for gear retraction and deployment. And many more. A Profile, on the other hand, is how you want the FDC GUI configured for different situations. For example, which aircraft are you using on this flight. Are flight deck calls on or off. Cabin anouncement setups. Virtual Co-Pilot (VCP) on or off. Which voice sets you want to use. Are checklists automatic or manual. Use of reverse thrust by the VCP. And so forth. In my case, I have four different ones for the KA350 alone. Once they are setup, future flights require only a single click to have all GUI features set as desired. You are aboslutely right, as are the other posters; this software requires study and time to become familiar with all of the features available and get them working properly for you. September 4, 200421 yr For all users of this great product who have set up profiles and/or performance files please, please upload them for us all to benefit. It's a tricky process and not all have the time or application to do it for themselves. For those folk at 'Oncourse' it would be a nice gesture if you were to upload the new profiles for all those satisfied users of the original version, surely, also, it would help sales if prospective purchasers could see what aircraft are profiled?Tony (A very satisfied user)
September 7, 200421 yr Author I use FDC almost every flight, and some of it is just for the chatter generator. The rest of it is handy too, like the co-pilot functionality. I've used it since the FS2002 version.Noel Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync.
