Matrix Tripple Head To Go

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking at matrix tripple head to go and wanted some feedback from current users of the DVI model. I've always wanted to run tripple monitor but when I plugged a 2nd monitor into the spare DVI port my frames dropped to 10 from 40!!! I was told that THTG was the answer to my problems but at £250 I'm not willing to buy and take a gamble without some valued feedback from others. Input greatly appreciated thanks

where abouts in bristol are you?

just outside Yate

Actually, the difference in performance is very small between one monitor and three, unless You are using more than 2x SGSS in heavy cumulus clouds.

when using the THTG?

I'm not really sure what you mean by SGSS

Actually, nVidia Surround and TH2Go gives me exactly the same framerates. I am using 3 x 1920x1080 monitors.

I did notice -5% to -10% performance drop between single monitor and TH2Go or Surround modes using three screens.

SGSS stands for Sparse Grid Supersampling - my favorite antialiasing method.

SGSS set as 4x or 8x is a killer in BKN and OVC cloud conditions even on one monitor.

great info thanks. Nvidia surround is audio ?

Nope,

This is more or less equivalent of ATI's Eyefinity. Basically it allows You to create one huge, virtual monitor using more than one physical display. Very similar to TH2Go.

You could always give Bob Sidwick from RC Simulations a ring, they have their base in Yate (above a shop I beleive), hes very helpful and prob do you a good price on a TH2G Digital.

I use the digital version and it runs perfect,

BTW its always polite to add your name

Just like the rest of "The Sim" - whether you will get a performance hit depends entirely upon the rest of your system, and no two are the same. If you want some credible feedback - put your system info into your profile, so that it appears under your avatar at the left of the post. Thanks!

lol, just saw what i typed up above. I think I've confused the OP by typing nvidia surround sound. Must have typed that half asleep on my ipad.

Nvidia surround allows you to 'extend' your desktop onto several monitors either with one or multiple video cards.

Check it out on the nvidia website, they have the low down.

Does anyone have stretching issues with the outside monitors? I am running at 5040 X 1050 X 32 in FSX,Matrox power desk and Surround gaming utility.
