March 7, 201313 yr im trying to figure out how to update fsx's nav data. i have airac 1208 installed in both FSCommander and Aivlasofts EFB. But it seems FSX is using different data. Im seeing this with runways being a different number. (FSCommander and EFB says runway 08 when it is 09 in fsx for example.) Is there a way to fix this? or am i not doing something right? I have updated both FSC and EFB with scenery folder scans. And i know the airac is not the current one but it is surely newer than the default fsx info. March 8, 201313 yr You can't update the built in-navdata. You can change the magnetic variation with a file You can fly certain planes / software with newer database. So yeah it's common to see navdata in your plane's FMS/GPS say one thing and FSX displays another. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 8, 201313 yr Commercial Member With the upcoming version [sf] Ideal Fight reads the navdata and integrates it with the simdata. You will be able to choose 'Sim Biased Data', which uses the navigation from the AIRAC Cycle, but uses the airports as they are in the scenery. If you use the AIRAC Biased Data, you could be landing in a shopping mall. IF also filters a common airport subset between the AIRAC and the Sim, the AIRAC contains airports not in the sim and vice versa, so you only get routes between airports that exist in the sim and the AIRAC. Version [sg] to follow soon after [sf] introduces new ways around this problem, more on that nearer the time. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
March 8, 201313 yr This guy is providing FREE updates for the FSX database but please note the limitations on the home page. http://www.gbmitch.net/ May I take this opportunity to say a big "Thank you" to Graham for providing this service. I have no connection with this service other than a very grateful user. Dave
March 8, 201313 yr Man two days in a row of me being wrong lol Awesome! Is it just gps fixes? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 10, 201313 yr So I downloaded this. It wasn't quite what I thought it was. It does indeed update/add new GPS fixes. It does not change RNAV approaches which is what I was hoping it would do. If you want to fly a new published approach you'd have to file a FP through FSX with the new fixes in the plan. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
