March 15, 201313 yr After a very long time away I have reinstalled the Fly Tampa Kai Tak and I have to say what a WONDERFULL scenery it still is.I never had much success flying the heavies into RWY13 and maybe that is why I stopped going there, but now using theReaAir Lancair Legacy and flying the Checkerboard approach I am having great success. I have landed every time so far out of may be 25 timeswith 3 or 4 being rather wonky landings and in all sorts of weather. Lots of fun indeed. The Realair Legacy is a marvellous little aircraft and gives the chance to get the true feel of the Checkerboard approach, something I did not do before as it had to be in a 747 or nothing and so I gave up on it. Silly old fart!!In time I will try a small airliner and see how I go but for the time being I am really enjoying myself. regardsRichard Richard Binns MSFS 2020 & 2024- Asus ROG Strix Z390-E - Skylake i7 9700k - Asus Geforce RTX 4070 Super OC 12gb, 64gig G.Skill TridentZ DDR4 - Thermaltake Thor 850w Platinum PSU - Corsair H150i AIO Liquid CPU Cooler - H150i AIO Liquid CPU Cooler - Thermaltake V71 Case - Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 500GB - 2 x Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus V-Nand 1TB
March 15, 201313 yr Yes. FlyTampa Hong Kong remains one of my favorite sceneries, for its interesting terrain and numerous buildings. I have not yet invested in any payware GA aircraft.
March 17, 201313 yr Hi Richard: I have been considering for some time getting the FT KaiTak but have wondered about AI aircraft. Seeing that FSX does not list VHHX as an airport, and having absolutely no success in trying to create AI for VHHX with either AIFPC or AIFP2 using my FS9 traffic files, does FT supply any scheduled flying AI with their KaiTak scenery? Thanks Chris
March 17, 201313 yr Well, I found my answer over at the FT forums and the traffic bgl for VHHX. Should have gone there first before posting here.
March 17, 201313 yr I recently picked up this scenery and I have to agree it's a classic that has aged very well. I had some fun landing a few planes and made a video. It can be hard to make the tight turn in those big planes but there's something awesome about the sight of those big planes scraping over the roofs. Haven't nearly perfected that landing myself though. 1. Open Sky 747-400 Cathay Pacific 2. QualityWings AVRO RJ100 British Airways 3. PMDG 737-781NGX All Nippon Airways 4. Aerosoft Airbus X Extended A321 IAE China Southern Airlines 5. CaptainSim 707-300 British Airways 6. Open Sky 747-400 Lufthansa (evening time) 7. FeelThere Embraer ERJ145LR United Express (night time) 8. Project Airbus A380 Singapore Airlines (enbseries enhanced) The Airbus A380 used is a merge between the Project Airbus A380 model and the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended cockpit. The 747-400s are a merge between the Open Sky 747-400v4 and a Virtavia C17A Globemaster III cockpit.

Must keep trying.Well, I found my answer over at the FT forums and the traffic bgl for VHHX. Should have gone there first before posting here.Did you get the AI Traffic working? I just cannot get it going even though I have My Traffic 5.4a and they say it should work. Still the static aircraft pretty good but it would be nice to see the AI aircraft making their approach and landings. regards Edited March 17, 201313 yr by firehawk44 Richard Binns MSFS 2020 & 2024- Asus ROG Strix Z390-E - Skylake i7 9700k - Asus Geforce RTX 4070 Super OC 12gb, 64gig G.Skill TridentZ DDR4 - Thermaltake Thor 850w Platinum PSU - Corsair H150i AIO Liquid CPU Cooler - H150i AIO Liquid CPU Cooler - Thermaltake V71 Case - Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 500GB - 2 x Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus V-Nand 1TB
March 17, 201313 yr Yes I did get the AI working but reading the post on the FT forums about AI for VHHX states that the traffic bgl was designed around the WoAI packages. Not sure if it will work with another AI program or not. I am using a 3rd party scenery for KaiTak (not sure if that program used the default AFCAD or not by the designer of the scenery program), and the WoAI aircraft show and fly just fine. Great videos and nice flying by Bakayoyo.

March 20, 201313 yr Negative pitch?! You look to be way too fast (long glides above the rwy)... I agree. Proper speed and speed management are especially important due to the tightness of the runway 13 approach.
