March 19, 201313 yr One of the subtle visual effects I like in Flight is the little scratches in the cockpit glass - really helps the feeling of being in a cockpit, especially when the sun hits them. With all the repainting going on, is it possible to add a few more, deeper scratches, small cracks, stone chips or other imperfections to the glass? I'm sure it would be a pain but a really beat up, dorty Cub or Maule texture set would be cool! i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

March 19, 201313 yr If you just want to change it for a specific livery you should be able to modify it. When you create a livery based on an aircraft with cockpit glass you should see the glass texture in the list of assets, but by default it is probably not checked. If you check it, and finish creating the livery theoretically it should extract the texture for you. I haven't tested doing this though, and I can't remember what the grass scratch textures are named, but they are usually normal maps, so probalby ends in a _N.

I took a look at them a few days ago but they seemed like something you wouldn't want to mess with unless you knew what the heck you were doing. We are all connected..... March 20, 201313 yr Author I thought it might be a pain in the arse. Also it seems to be a low priority for most people or simply not noticed, but I remember the first time I saw the effect used in a sim (Lock On if memory serves) and thought it was a wonderful way to increase immersion in the VC. March 20, 201313 yr I am really missing the fine control of my long- gone graphics tablets. I might have to nab a new one. The little marks that translate to scratches on the glass are really too fine for coarse mouse drawing. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically......
