Please check to determine if you have other objects missing as well. Things like the stock fuel pumps, the ILS buildings at the runways with ILS. If those are missing as well then you have a problem with the 'generic.bgl' located in; FS9 root folder \ Scenery \ Generic \ scenery. If this file has been tampered with, corrupted or gone missing then the objects discussed will not show anywhere in FS9. It is not a texture problem or you would see a shape with only one color. If you are positive that this problem exists at all of the default airports that are supposed to have a tower and the other default objects I mentioned are missing that points to the 'generic.bgl' file. Again, if after double checking, you are absolutely certain no other objects are missing anywhere in FS9 then the only way for the towers to go missing is for there to be a scenery object "exclude" bgl file made for each and every missing tower on a one by one basis - lots and lots of work. (why would anyone do that?)

 

That leads back to the 'generic.bgl' as the problem. According to scenery creation / placement tools there are +/- 219 objects contained in this file.
