airplane crash on invisible object

Featured Replies

Hi all,
I know there is a bunch of topic on this argument, and I know that a solution is to disable the crash detection inside fsx...
...But, I experienced this problem only in these past weeks...in years and years of fsx I never had a crash in an invisible object...of course, only on visible object!
The first time the problem was presented on KXNA free addon, found here...a really well crafted addon, the first time I was there I don't detected any crah of sort, but the second time I crash in something invisible on the taxiway!
So, I remembered that I put my mesh slider to 1m instead of 10m...I set the slider to 10m and the problem was vanished!
I was thinking that the problem was vanished!
Departing SDF(always a freeware addon), crash in an invisible object during the taxi...and there I cannot solve the problem in any way...I set pro atc x right to have the 35R disabled for the takeoff...
Yesterday, approaching KSNA, the beautiful one here in the library...and just before touching the runway...crash!!!
I can't believe this!!!
Here the problem is that I made a short flight from SNA to SAN a few days ago, and no crash was detected!!!
Today in any place I put my plane...at the gate, on the runway, everywhere at SNA, the plane crash!!!
My question is...what can cause this issue???
I've tried with the mesh slider, no luck, tried to disable the last sceneries I have installed...nothing!
What the hell!
Any suggestion guys???
Happy easter!

Regards

Paolo

Try removing crash detection in FSX's settings.

Like Clem says, the only real solution is to disable that silly crash detection. You know when you actually crash. Once you start adding any add-ons at all, this will happen--a general observation, I know you are already using add-ons. Being able to use a certain runway and/or taxi way or anything else once and then not the next time means nothing. Are you able to reproduce the exact path the airplane takes to the absolutely exact inch?? Of course not. Disable the silly thing.

thanks for your replies guys...and I know that disabling crash detect in fsx will solve the problem, what I can't understand is why at KSNA..the first time all going well...and today I can't load my aircraft in that airport because I am crashing everywhere...runways and gates!!

Humm...I have to admit to never having heard of anything quite that extreme before. To the best of my knowledge everything concerning an invisible object crash has always been solved by turning off the effect. Let us know...

I've noticed that if I try to use airport scanner, I have several error, it says "Failed to read file", all bgl afcad files, for various addon airport I have including SNA.

Anyway, the scenery configurator editor don't give me any error in the scenery.cfg file!

Wonder if there something in the scenery.cfg that causing these errors!

Nope, not possible, unless you de-activate the offending scenery.

Why spend any time worrying about this?

Turn off the bloody unreliable, unrealistic crash detection and enjoy your time flying.

I did that way Joe...

...What I ask myself is...why one day fsx give no problems..and the day after...something goes wrong!?!

Without touching anything!

I think this is the question for all the fsx simmers!!

What I ask myself is...why one day fsx give no problems..and the day after...something goes wrong!?!

Why does it run flawlessly one day and not the next?? Look at the very top (or nearly so) of the Avsim header. Something like 6X10 to the 12th power subjects and 417 bazillion answers. In short, it's FSX, the tried and tired long time flight sim game. It's old, it's temperamental and we all love it (some days less than others). Turn off the crash detection and play. This can easily become another "but I'm only getting 310 and half FPS and he gets 11-dy seven FPS" circular discussion.
