New to AVsim!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys im new here and I have a few questions that I would really like to resolve, thanks in advance

-If I earn a standard aerocache then that aerocache becomes AOTD can I earn it again?

-What is it like flying with a Xbox controller.Im very new to PC gaming however I have four years Xbox 360 experience. Please could anyone tell me what the controls map across too?

-Finally when landing the Stearman I nearly always lose points on the vertical section I believe this is because I struggle to get the back wheel on the floor.

Thank you!

Hello and welcome to AVSIM.

You can earn a uique Aerocache only once, the only way to do it more often is to delete your saved aerocaches in the career folder under %appdata\Local\Microsoft\Flight.

I don`t use XBox controller so i don`t know.

Practice, practice, practice is only way to learn how to fly an aircraft. Try to flare more.

Welcome to the forum new guy. Sorry but I have never used the XBox controller either. Stick and rudder all the way. But that is another good thing about FLIGHT, there are so many different control options that can be mixed and matched to get the job done.

With the Stearman, I found that using the checklists for approach and landing helped a lot, and very small movements with controls will help you get silver or gold on those missions.

Welcome! The Xbox controller works perfectly. As for the Stearman, practice makes.... Better. :-)

You can always change the viewing position to get a better angle as well. Just hold down the mouse wheel and reposition until you find something that works for you.

+1 to this.

I highly recommend folks use the checklist at least a few times for each aircraft, not only is it a learning experience for each individual plane, it adds something to the flight as well and I found them fun to do. I don't use them every flight any more, but especially for newer folks to the sim, it is a great learning tool...

Welcome to the forums young tubgoatz, I hope you stick around a while!

Have fun,
