Kauai Hawaii (Microsoft Flight)

My Trip around Kauai Hawaii in Microsoft Flight In the fabulous Avsim RV-6  Begins at Lihue Airport, followed by a quick turn towards......

The mountains.

These mountains are some of the most breathtaking features in flights Hawaii, and its too bad that those with only the basic package miss seeing them.

Approaching a bridge, the plane bobs and shimmies in the wind. The air has just a slight touch of haze today.

Over the ridge, a steep, steep drop stretches out below. Watch that first step..........

Flight draws the sides of mountains in a way that avoids stretched textures, and the effect is very realistic. In Hawaii, the volcanic geology is especially breathtaking.

At the edge of the valley, we cross a plateau.

And more ridges.

Before finally reaching the sea, on the other side of the island

And human habitation, clinging to the shore.

A quick look over the shoulder before I begin my dive for the deck.

Treetop height, and the ground seems to blur as the landing gear threatens to send leaves flying.

Buzzing a sleepy town seems the obvious thing to do. Who needs a license, anyway?

Racing away from my indiscretion, I quickly circle the island and come from another direction, flying casually and looking innocent.

The approach is mundane. the day is beautiful.

The plane glides down effortlessly and kisses the runway with the gentlest of thumps. Time for a Hamburger! Kauai Is my favorite Hawaiian island in Flight. Maybe you'll come visit, someday!

LOL something in the system completely corrupted the post. God knows what other viewers saw until I re-wrote it! (and I still lost more than one picture when the editor locked me out)  :P

This should have been the first picture:

Which would have made this the 13th

The sound of the wind rushing past the canopy becomes a plane-shaking rumble as the speed increases drastically with our descent.
