I reinstalled my CalClassics C-46 today to use along with my other Buffalo aircraft. I also installed the Marcus Hellwig repaints for the CalClassics C-46 but both of them will not initialize in the aircraft selection window. Would anyone have any answers for that please.

Have you added both of these repaints as additional [fltsim.X] sections to your aircraft.cfg? If you have, are the 3 'ui=XXXXXXX' entries present and correct?

Hi Bill thanks for your reply. Below is a copy of the aicraft config file, I think verything is as it should be unless you can spot something. It's strange I have not had very many problems with adding repaint over the years so I am baffled. Maybe you can spot something that's not right, I hope

As far as I can see, I can there is nothing wrong with the wording of the cfg, but there might be another problem here!

 

I have the same C-46s but mine are spread out between 3 folders - GA C46, GA C46 MIL and GA C46SA, all of which have separate cfg files and their own model, panel, texture files etc. All of my repaints show up and I wonder if the reason for your problem is that you have them all in one folder with one cfg? At the top of the cfg there is a sentence "DO NOT add textures for military aircraft or Central / South American airlines to this aircraft.cfg.", which I have to admit I never noticed before but maybe that is relevant!

I have the exact package as you (3packages) and I have tried installing them in all three packages and both one package at a time. Do you have these two Buffalo textures installed? If you do and they work for you maybe I could get a copy of your packages, just wondering.........John

The sim= line must exactly match the name of the .air file, without the extension.

 

You have several different entries, do you have several different .air files?

Unfortunately I don't have the Buffalo textures installed as yet (have just been doing a fresh installation of FS9 on a new computer over the last 3 months after a meltdown on my old one!) but I think I have downloaded it somewhere as I am a big Buffalo fan, so I will install it and let you know. If it works I will happily send you a copy of the package.

OK, found my C-FAVO download and have added it to the GA C46 folder and it isn't showing with me either!! I have no idea why but I will have to work on this problem now. Little things like this really bug me (as I suspect they do a lot of simmers) until I have solved them!

Me again - this time with a solution!

 

Put inverted commas before and after each of the 3 UI entries in the cfg as in the other repaint sections. I have no idea why you need to do this in this particular aircraft as most of my other aircraft cfgs, as far as I can see, don't seem to have these, but for some reason it seems to work!! Maybe someone wiser than us can tell us why! Presumably it will work for C-GTXW also.

Sim= line for 0-3 are all the same. 4 and 5 are different.

 

If you do not have a C46A.air and a C46A_MIL_SA.air file in the folder this aircraft.cfg is in, those liveries will not show up in the sim.

I have just installed another version that I had used before and the buffalo textures now show up.  Everything is in one folder this time..But I now have another problem, the cargo doors do not close they stay partialy open and so the saga continues.  I have had this all work perfectly in the past but I cannot remember how I got it to work lol.  Thanks Joe..................John
