VoxAtc will, by default, always vector you to the landing runway, you have to request the full ILS procedure. Read this thread, some of it will be relevant to your question.

As far as I know, your plan should end in a waypoint where the STAR begins. Same with SID.

Anyway, ATC can give you vector if it wants, although I don't know if that's a feature of VOXATC or in fact is an issue.

Hi

what if i input the complete sid and star(obtained from efb) into my flight plan would that help me getting what i need ?

i have also tried doing that, but for some reason iam still being vectored and not getting a star.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious here or you've already checked, but what is the weather saying?  Maybe the winds are favoring Rwy 16?  You say your EFB is showing that 34 should be in use, but what is the actual weather in FSX saying?  Or, does your EFB read the weather from FSX?

Are you sure that the STAR it is in the Navdata? maybe there is charts but the navdata does not have the star info.

It happened to me once.

Using VoxATC for the first time, I was flying into CYHM and it vectored me to ILS RWY 12. This was perplexing to me because on final I was dealing with a pretty wicked tail wind. It made no sense because the wind was basically exactly aligned with the runway, but I was vectored to the wrong side of the wind basically. Whats more, I was vectored coming in from the opposite side of the runway, meaning I was flying into the headwind, coming into the airport and could very simply have been vectored to a sensible headwind runway without much navigation, instead I was sent on a wild goose chase around the other end so that I could come in on a final fighting my landing speed with stupid winds chasing me to the touchdown area.

This was my first flight with VoxATC so I must say I was rather non plussed. I was using AS2012 with live weather, and the weather on the ground matched everything the WXreport tab was telling me.

My only idea as to why this happened is that because CYHM has only one ILS approach, RWY 12, and that there is no other ILS, even on the reciprocal to 12, that maybe voxatc just defaults you to the best ILS or something.

I know I can ask for another approach, but it kind of sucks the fun out of "realistic" ATC if you have to check the weather against the provided approach with no confidence in what Approach is telling you.
