September 27, 200421 yr My FS9 is currently too cluttered with dozens of freeware/payware addons, affecting performance. When I wanted to uninstall FS9 ( so I can reinstall fresh), I noted that the uninstall.exe is missing! Can't understand why?! It's a sign of how the whole program is badly installed. How would I proceed to uninstall it manually, ensuring no files are left behind.Thanks.Eytan Ornstein
September 27, 200421 yr One of the many 3rd party addons could have overwritten it. If you are just going to re-install, all you need to do is manually delete all the files from your flightsim folder. Then you can re-install again to the same location. I would recommend you fully defragment your harddrive after you delete your flightsim folder and before you install. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
September 27, 200421 yr If you are using WinME/XP, make a restore point. Next open the Windows registry by pressing Start, Run..., type regedit, OK. Open:HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator9.0 - with 9.0 highlighted, right click, select delete, YES/OK.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator9.0 - with 9.0 highlighted, right click, select delete, YES/OK.If you have enough space on your hardrive, rename your original Flight Simulator 9 folder to FS2004OLD, otherwise, delete the entire Flight Simulator 9 folder. Reinsatll FS2004.If you have any problems, use your restore point.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
September 27, 200421 yr I have Windows 2000 Professional. Does that make any difference? Also, should I uninstall addons first?
September 27, 200421 yr The windows version makes no difference. I would try to uninstall all your addons first (those that have uninstallers). Many probably won't work, so deleting the directory at the end is still the way to go. Also, run a full disk defrag before you re-install! And remember to delete all files from the c:documents and settingsapplication datamicrosoftfs9 folder as well. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
