737 800 Blurry VC

Featured Replies

But doesn't everything get blurrier as you try to shrink it down unless you run on a super high resolution monitor?  I see text and labels get blurry as I zoom out also and thought it normal because the lesser amount of pixels can not render it as sharply.

thanx for all the input guys, i switched screens with another HDTV and have found the VC sharp and as beautiful as i had hoped it would be... now i am thinking instead of getting another screen I will get an HD projector cos I'm going to be starting my 737 home cockpit build tomorrow.

I have already got the materials...now i am going to take a few months(years maybe, if I'm to believe the stories on the net) and build a cockpit... i have now tethered 3 screens to my system with no problem and am going to add a 4th and maybe a 5th screen to complete the MIP, I have already undocked and dragged the gauges onto the 2 other screens and tested it in flight and it works great.

the challenge i have now is to figure out how to CAREFULLY delete the VC background bitmaps and keep the gauges intact so that i can drag them onto the screens in the MIP and then have just the scenery projected on the wall in front of me.

if anyone has an idea how to do this or can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

again thanx for all the advice on the screen res... I'm sorry it was a "dumb fix"

The very first thing that fixes this is anisotropic filtering in fsx's settings.

I have seen blurries with bilinear or even trilinear filtering.

For me, only anisotropic gives me clear images.

I just discovered that for my system, I have to set the Global options in the Graphics Setting - Display to Very high to get decent resolution in the VC.  i.e., Options, Settings, Display, Graphics - Global options - Global texture resolution slider - all the way right.

I'm experiencing the same problem since the first time I installed the NGX. I have an ATI card. The global texture resolution is set to max, allowed 4096 textures in the cfg, tried to set mipmap settings to the maximum, all the settings recommended by PMDG, but nothing helped.

The only way I found to solve the problem is set the Antialiasing filter to supersampling in CCC. The problem is that the fps decrease dramatically, and FSX is almost unusable inside the clouds.

I noticed that the labels in the VC panels are not part of the panels themselves, but are overlapped (I don't know how) as alpha layers. If you look at the panels textures, they are without labels. So I'm convinced that the problem is related to this. I would like to see comments from the PMDG staff: is it possibile to have panel textures with the labels included, painted, and not overlapped as alpha layers?

Best Regards
