April 22, 201313 yr Hey bought Dash 400 on Saturday. Nothing but praise for plane. Only thing run a VA and having problems with acars software. Tried Smartcars and Kacars. Tracks flight but landing rate plus 1000 or more Xacars doesn't start because it can't tell when engines are started or stopped. I know this is caused by FDE running outside of FSX, but wondering if there is a setting in MJC control panel which might resolve this.
April 22, 201313 yr I managed to get FTG Acars to work by selecting "Shift=P" twice in quick succession. Before taxi. Sounds daft, but it worked. Then it started recording the flight. April 22, 201313 yr So that's why it looks like I am nosediving into the tarmac all the time on the flight logs... makes sense now. Daniel Nilsson
April 22, 201313 yr Commercial Member Due to the FDE integration, some of the variables that are reported to FSX will seem erroneous. Hopefully we can look at addressing this in the near future. April 24, 201313 yr VAFS works fine...after you start the engines, press CTL-E and away you go! Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
April 24, 201313 yr Commercial Member Thanks Will, good find. so I am assuming that one would have to invoke CTRL+SHFT+F1 to shut the engines down. I have done some testing with several add-on loggers Flight Keeper, Avaliasoft's EFB, and noticed that some parameter do get logged, whilst there are some parameters the Flight Keeper recognized that the Dash did not respond to. (The turbulence issue is one that we are investigating though because it does work at times). April 24, 201313 yr VAFS works fine...after you start the engines, press CTL-E and away you go! Tried that with Air hauler and though it does allow to start it keeps resetting to engines off when changing prop pitch from MTOP to MCL. CTRL- E puts prop pitch at MTOP.
April 26, 201313 yr Commercial Member I can confirm this as well, landing data does yield a rather excessive value. April 26, 201313 yr Yes, but it surprised me that it would register a climb value, not descent. Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict
