FSUIPC new ver. 4.90 update problem

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a following problem: I've removed previous version from MODULES (unregistered one), restarted the computer and installed the new ver. 4.90 (registered one) with copying the Loader first.

FSX now stops responding immediately after start and CTD with an error message: duplicate copies of FSUIPC installed... (or something close to that, I am not right now in front of my FSX computer).

Restarting the computer does not help! Still the same message when starting the FSX.

What is wrong here?

There is in DLL.XML:

- FSUIPC 4.dll

- FSUIPC_Loader.dll

- Leonardo_SH.dll

loading from Modules. I can see just one entry for FSUIPC...

Here's a quote from the developer from his forum:  "The message you are seeing occurs when FSUIPC is started and finds FSUIPC already running. That can occur because there are incorrect additional copies of FSUIPC in the main FS folder (whether by the name FSUIPC.DLL or not), or renamed copies in the Modules folder, or, and more usually, because the previous session of FS has actually not yet closed down, and is probably hung."  Also, when you shutdown FSX, open up Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) and make sure it is still not running.  If so, shut it down.  In addition, in the Modules folder where the fsuipc is located, look for the log file (fsuipc.log) and open it up by double-clicking.  See if there's an message there.

Best regards,

Jim

Jim,

thank you, I've actually found this message from the developer. However no other FSX instance has been running nor had I additional copies of FSUIPC installed.

I have checked DLL.XML and only above entries were listed. I had also deleted all related entries in TRUSTED section in the FSX.CFG. Hasn't helped either.

So that I've uninstalled the FSUIPC ver. 4.90 from my system, restarted and re-installed again (this time WITHOUT moving the FSUIPC_Loader.dll into MODULES first) and have uninstalled the LSH Maddog. Problem solved, I do not get the error message anymore.

As I did the two above steps simultaneously (uninstalling the Maddog and removing FSUIPC_Loader.dll from MODULES) I am not sure which of them caused the problem in the first place. I bet it was the FSUIPC_Loader.dll.

Thanks for posting the procedures you went through to fix this problem.  Hopefully it will help others.

Best regards,

Jim
