Loss of ATC Through Headphones

Featured Replies

Can anyone please assist?

I have FSX running on Win 7. Until recently, I could hear both Engine/Ambient soudns AND ATC through both my Headphones 'Triton' and speakers. These are connected to my Soundblaster card via a splitter into which the the two green jack plugs are connected. Allworked well and Mike allowed voice commands to Multi Crew Experience etc

Suddenly, the ATC audio no longer plays through the headphones, only through the speakers. Engine/Ambient sounds are still working on headphones just fine, Mike still works, but out of the blue  no ATC..

Can anyone advise what may have happened to the ATC sound that was previously coming through the headphones and how I might rectify this problem.

Thanks in hopeful anticipation.

Lame guess?  Check the settings in FSX in addition to the Win setup.  Happens to me when somehow the settings in FSX revert to default.

It may be your "Playback Devices" when you right click the speaker in the tray. Mine does this occasionally and I have to fiddle with those settings until I'm hearing what I should be hearing.

I know, it's not a direct "Do this to fix that" comment but it's all I got.

If your having problems keeping the ATC,etc.sound volumes stable with FSX Windows 7, try this. It worked for me. Open Control Panel/Sound/Communications, Choose the "Do Nothing" option then Apply. I guess it's reading the ATC as a phone transmission.
