The more you fly in XPX, the greater is the rate of return....

...that's what I'm finding. I am presently in a night flight (4:19 am) from KDTW to KMYR (Detroit Metro- Michigan, to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Night flying, using XPX is beyond belief as everybody knows. I just needed to get that out once more myself. The cities, highways entering and leaving them, with that fabulous HDR lighting effects, makes it look, as if it is truly real-life down there. I know that I, and a number of other posters have said this ad infinitum, but the impact to the user is such, that you just keep shaking your head and smiling as you rack up the flight time and miles past the wings...

Other things that I have only discovered (probably reading the manual would be a good thing, lol) is that when the first time I had entered a flight plan, and filed it with ATC, I got taxi arrows (as per FS9, FSX) that I did not know was even coded into the sim!  That was a wonderful surprise in airports that I was unfamiliar with. It hand-held me right to each threshold. Great stuff..as I always used this feature in any M.S. product.

So, this morning I'm headed to Myrtle Beach, in my private jet, and living the virtual life, large. I hope that people that decide to try out another non-M.S. flight simulator, to give themselves time...you will make mistakes, you will need to do things and set up things differently to what you are use to. I sure did, but the pay-out is quite generous. XPX on a 64 bit system TRULY gives you no medium-to-extended flight time O.O.M.'s, or CTD's as long as the scenery you are using (if any---airports, fly over) and aircraft are fully compatible...you will be secure in knowing that if you fly in real-time, and put in the hours within the cockpit, you WILL see the flight progress towards your approach and landing at the destination. That is such a big plus, not to mention that from the time I was setting up my pre-flight in the cockpit, taxi to active, and then heading out to cruise altitude,...I have been staying at a constant 30 FPS with HDR on, with Water at 'complete', with Textures at 'extreme', with Shadows set to 'medium global', and finally I have ships, birds, and deer set to on. I do not run with forest fires or balloons...that is about the only thing not ever turn on as a feature. I have HDR set to mid level for both A.A. tabs. It gives great output, and I really didn't see much of a lessor difference at the mid settings of both masks, than when I had them both at full out. So...hence my now standard stetting in both the mid ranges of the masks.

Happy flying all....and oh one more thing...(as if there truly is EVER just one-more-thing,lol)   I really like how detailed things actually are, for instance, when the female pilot's voice gives read-back transmits, you HEAR the engine in the background as she speaks. I don't think that I have heard that in any M.S. product. You hear the voice, and that is that.  Things like this really have upped the ante in immersion expectations by using XPX.  All in all, and even with a few burps I have had to deal with along the way....a totally satisfying experience.  I hope that Laminar gets 10.30 out ASAP, so I can fly my new Carenado purchase. I'm certainly waiting on that!

Post Edit:  I realize that XPX is using an outboard voice synthesis, as it says that my system, under the SOUND rendering, is voice-capable. It is a female voice, though, so does anybody know with running W7 64 bit Ultimate, you would find the voice syn, and is there a way to change the gender?

Just landed in Myrtle Beach, and have shut down.  Temperature 67(F) , with some morning mist.  Can't wait for the taxi to pick us up..and heading to the beach! :)

Total flight time from Detroit Metro---92 minutes.

325 Kts at cruise.

I love xp10 but I always found this "option" strange :Nerd:

is there a way to change the atc gender?

I get random gender everytime I change airports......one airport would have a male and the other would have a female.

Keep the birds but get rid of the dear (unless you live in Alaska or the most northern parts of Canada)
