As I wrote in another thread after a closer look and some testing the TBM performs worse than the Malibu and even the 182T from Carenado when it comes to FPS. There are many little bugs, MFD and PFD are hard to read, speed is way to slow. The TBM gives me a huge hit on the FPS when I use the map on the MFD. The carenado 182 T also gives me that strange performance loss. None of my other G1000 planes gives me such a hit (for using the map....).

This is disheartening and I agree about other G1000 planes not causing this performance hit. I have the Eaglesoft DA42, WSSimulation DA42, Lionheart DA40 and Quest Kodiak, Carenado T182T and of course the Carenado Malibu, and while some (especially the Eaglesoft) cause a noticeable performance hit, the T182T is in a league of its own. Turning on both displays literally cuts the FPS nearly in half (which is quite severe when you're getting just ~20 FPS to begin with) and every 2-3 seconds there's a big stutter/lurch.

The Malibu is the biggest surprise - even with all five displays ( (if you count the main display as two)

turned on, the frame rate is similar to the quite frame rate friendly RealAir Duke, C337 and other "steam" panels.

Clearly, Carenado attempted to solve the FPS problems by reducing sharpness, but I don't think that's where the problem lies. The Malibu/Eaglesoft/Lionheart panels are nice and sharp with no performance hit. I think there's some bottleneck in the actual XML coding of the map display.

What bothered me with the Malibu is the very limited view out of the cockpit.

Both planes look very much alike and yet I have the impression from Screenshots and first videos that the view in the TBM is a bit better. This is hard to judge from screenshots /videos without having the freedom to play around with the camera yourself. Can anyone compare the view and has opinion for that?

The Malibu has a more cramped cockpit - between the large A-pillar and the high glareshield, it feels a bit claustrophobic..

The TBM has a more roomy feel and the 45 degree views are definitely better..

The TBM cockpit definitely looks more spacious. However the Malibu's isn't that bad IMO. The wings are narrow and you sit ahead of them, so you can get some great views of the scenery out the left window. The panel isn't that tall compared to some Carenado high-wing Cessnas.
