May 18, 201313 yr hi, I suspect that windows updates my nvidia driver because it is now in a version that I have never downloaded. How can I prevent that from happening? Thanks My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
May 18, 201313 yr I noticed Windows update did that recently as well. It normally doesn't if you have Windows set to only install important updates. But this driver was marked as an important update and not as an optional update as the graphic drivers normally are... The only way to prevent this fully would be to turn off windows update or to confirm every update manually. Neither is an option for me.
May 19, 201313 yr Under the "Change Settings" selection I select "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". Then when notified that new updates are available, I uncheck any that I don't want - important or not. It kept notifying me that a new NVIDIA update was available but I made sure that selection was unchecked before downloading.

Hope this helps.

Jim
May 19, 201313 yr I agree, I ended up with the latest update and got all kinds of flashes and crazy scenery till I went back to a 910 version............I wish Nvidea would mention FSX in the upgrade lists......................why don't they??????? B42 L8
May 20, 201313 yr Author Thank you. I looked up in the windows update list and found the nvidia driver update tagged as important. Nevertheless I think that it can create problems because all the drivers are not FSX compatible. My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
May 20, 201313 yr I wonder why I never have gotten a new nVidia driver through WU? I have automatic updates enabled and have never had this issue (Win7 64 Ultimate). Cheers,
