I cannot figure out how to assign soft mute to a joystick button:

If I assign a button to the propeller sync, then it gets pressed and immediately released even though I keep the joystick button pressed down. This means that soft mutes turn off, then immediately off again.

If I do the same with a keyboard key, then the mute stays on until I release the button again.

 

How do I set it up so that the soft mute stays on while a joystick button is pressed?

Perhaps your joystick has a loose connection?  So even though you're holding down a joystick button, a signal still gets sent that it's been released?
