All kinds of talk last night and today about this "Derecho" that supposed to smack us in the midwest and then move east.  The radar started looking nasty near Chicago awhile ago, so what better way to see what the buzz is about than a flight from KGYY-KDSM (Gary/Chicago-Des Moines).  It seems easy with lightning flashing all the time to get some cool snaps of a strike, but I guess I'm slow on the trigger lol.  Oh well some neat looking skies anyways as I shot off on a heading of 300 degrees right into the "mess".  The trusty JetBlue flight was a rough, but fun one.  Did I mention I like cumulonimbus clouds :lol:
