June 13, 201312 yr And we thought the Iditarod caches were complete. Silly us. I'm not sure, but we might complete the North route now. Heck, why not since we're all in the Iditarod mode anyhow. This looks like a pretty long flight. Maybe I'll take the F4U or the Mustang for this one. Enjoy. Thank you. June 13, 201312 yr Hi Folks Well, noticed more 'friends' concurrently online than in a long time. And apart from running out of fuel, and crashing, :(tonight's AOTD did make for an interesting challenge. From Bing's primary result,I'd been expecting this AOTD to be at Cripple, As identified by Iditarod checkpoint site's map.Coords in Google Map 63.4100,-156.2000 i.e. almost directly south of Z48 - Bear Creek 3. Hint - Forget all above info, today's AOTD is located somewhere else entirely. Spoiler available below, by selecting area, from here down to SIG. :excl: Try almost directly -- North of Ophir- North West of Bear Creek 3 HTHATBPaul ODG Preview
June 13, 201312 yr You are too cool, Paul! Thanks! Thanks to Paul's clues, I flew up the river and found... nothing! So, I kept on flying and flying and flying - still nothing. So, I looked up the Cripple checkpoint and flew to it and still nothing. I was starting to get frustrated when it suddenly popped up at a settlement. Hooray! Do people really live up here in the wilds? Best regards. Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
June 14, 201312 yr Author That's where I found it too. I had to look Cripple up on the trail map to make sure of where it was. It was a most interesting flight, and long too. I enjoy these that make you do a little work to collect the cache. Thank you.
