Megascenery Earth vs. Google Earth Flight Sim

Featured Replies

While FSX is my primary sim, I've been toying with Google Earth FS to explore the real world scenery.  It's flat without having autogen, but otherwise it's very good.  I guess Megascenery Earth is similar although I don't own any of their products.  Any opinions about if one looks better than the other?  I read that the zoom should be set at .40 for MSE which has discouraged me from buying thus far.

That's their recommendation which I believe is more for external views. In the cockpit fly at the zoom you like, which is likely .50-.80. It makes little difference at any altitude.

Wouldn't MSE gave higher graphics than Google Earth?

I don't own any but it looks that way

Have y'all seen the new (beta) Google maps? The new 3d interpolation is amazing. I hope a future flight sum can do something similar.

Thanks for the replies.  I'm uncertain whether to buy any Megascenery or not, specifically Illinois which is my home state.  Illinois seems to have an odd tint to it in the screenshots, but maybe I can look past that.
